I've noticed in the original Crusader Kings the "Papal Controller" is assigned to particularly pious Catholic rulers but wondered what are the mechanics behind this? Same goes for the logic behind beatification.. Is it possible to make your son (or daughter?) a priest and then get to see him elected Pope? Finally the designation for "heretic" and "excommunicated" isn't something unique to CK, but the effect in-game certainly is different compared to CK2/CK3.

Looking forward to your feedback!
