Well with the old forum being closed and everyone moving over here, will we start seeing Paradox and harebrained Schemes starting advertising and pushing of the game soon?

With a sneak-peak at the proposed release date of sometime in April, how long do you think they should be advertising this game and offering pre-orders? 4 weeks before? 2 weeks? 6 weeks?

As a total guess, I think they might open up pre-orders and start advertising the game on March 1st. That would give them roughly 4-6 weeks of pushing it and letting people pre-order.

What do you think?

In some ways, it has already started. There are facebook ads of the game already.

It will probably start with the announcing of the release date, followed (very) closely by a preview round by the gaming press and "influencers" (aka Youtubers). They'll probably get their hands on a new campaign mission, maybe even get some footage of the campaign mechanics in more depth. Afterwards, Paradox will start with weekly livestreams of the game, campaign game included, while presenting the game at certain key events. Closer to the release date (a week or so before), you'll see famous Youtubers like Quill18 doing full let's plays, alongside reviews by gaming websites and magazines. And then the game will drop and we'll all be happily playing. :)

My two c-bills.

Well, Mitch Git said that preorders might go up "before the end of the month" in that thread on the old forums with the Shadowhawk skin leak (you know, when somebody butt-dialed the Steam release).

My high-end electronic instruments are telling me that this is NOT leap year, so that would leave today or tomorrow for the maybe/might/possible February announcement. This forum move probably had to happen before the official announcement as it would be counterproductive to get everyone hyped, see new people come to the old forums aboard the hype train.....and then tell everyone to move it on over here. Maybe it was the last box to tick?

Suffice to say I am setting my instruments to surveillance mode on all official channels.

For a bit of reference, Surviving Mars was announced 6 weeks before ship. Feb 1st announcement, shipping date is Mar 15. I think that is the closest comparison we have right now. If Announcement is Thursday, Paradox seems to like Thursdays, then we are looking at April 12th.

The Paradox site has Battletech listed for pre-order, but when I click on the pre-order button, it takes me to the Battletech page where it still says coming soon :(

Oooh, looks like today is the big day - the timing of the forum move makes a lot of sense now.

I'm seeing the page live with a $39.99 price tag, but the release date is showing as April....not sure why I can't post a screen grab.

I love that the new video and the first one up in the queue on the store page is a nuts and bolts description of the actual gameplay and combat mechanics. Nice way to lay out your priorities there. :)

That is wrong, so very wrong.

Yeah, it actually comes from this Crystal Light Aerobics Championship video from 1988. It's basically the greatest unintentional comedy exhibition in the history of the human race. :p

Yay.

Please take it down! Don't let @Mojo Amok post any more videos, we beg you. Surely it's banned somewhere in the Ares Conventions?:p
