Although I've seen reports by others of the AI carrying out significant landings on the German coast and such, so far the British have been mostly absent in most of my games, not landing the British Expeditionary Force in France, using their forces in Norway and if they were active, they mostly were active in Africa or Asia. In Europe, they ususally restriced themselves to sending the RAF over to France.
So far, in all except one game, the French were overrun as they had a -smaller- army than the Germans (historically, theirs was larger, especially with the BEF added) and no support on land from the British. So, no miracle of Dunkirk, let alone for the French forces.
In the other game, while playing as the USSR, I put a lot of effort into building up the Red Army, intending to launch a massive, desperate assault in the German rear (no pun intended), hoping to take them off guard just as they are preparing to invade France and at least take out the troops stationed along the border. However, the Germans never attacked Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, let alone France or the USSR. Looking back in the game logs, apparantly somehow the Allies decided to let the German attack on Poland slide and have never even declared war! I haven't reconstructed what happened exactly, but the result is a bit boring. Currently they're off fighting a massively inflated Japanese Army that has already conquered China and wishes to add India and the Pacific to its territory. At least the Japanese decided to stick to the original plan. So far, the Allies are not doing so badly in the Pacific, but what the heck is going on in Europe?
Do we perhaps need an event for the BEF and another for Dunkirk?
