I had an army of about 6,000 (made up of two regiments) in the Holy Land, during a siege one of the regiments vanished, it is not back in the home province (one of my direct territories) and there is no possible option it went to a disloyal lord since I am the direct owner of this unit, it just is gone, and there is nothing back at home waiting to be mobilized. Is this a glitch?

Wow! Never mind, it was tucked away elsewhere on the map, funny how something so bizzare happened.

On a similar note though, how is it that I can lead an army into battle, at 6,000 strong, with my Duke in command, martial level of 18, against 800 enemies, most of my men are heavy forces, and they are rested, and we have nearly zero morale and break before them...

My prestige is good, piety is good... I just don't understand what is going on.

Never save before battles. Or if you do, do not reload. Any time you reload a save all the armies that are currently mobilized have their morale drop to 0.
