i've just installed CK (in another directory than the original)but i lend it to a friend, after seeing some bugs and a rather bad AI, i decided to dl 1.02. But i can't install it, the program says my game is not installed... i think i should change the directory's name. So can someone tell my what is the original one ?

three possibilities...

1- I cannot say the name: left to moderators only the specific hunting... :p
2- corrupt installation
3- you are trying to install the english patch on a foreign version

the question is: do exists foreign versions?

doesnt matters where the game is installed, the patch read the registry to find the proper directory.

anyway, if you wanna know... c:\programmi\paradox\crusader kings\
as you can see I havent the game installed in the default path (another OS language too) but the patch worked perfectly.
if the patch cant find CK on your registry, that means you got a bad installation (not complete).

Wise choice on Number 1 there Mikon. ;)

As for your problem. You should know that you cannot keep a copy of a program on your computer if you give the program away to someone else. That is called Pirating software and it contravenes the user agreement and the law. ;)

The point is you are pirating the game if you pay for one copy and both you and your friend are both using it.

No if you give the disk away you are required to remove the program from your system.

Yup. To date there has been only one software company that allows multiple installs for a single owned copy: Borland. They call it the no-nonsence licence, and it allows multiple installations on many systems, as long as only one of those copies is running at any given time.

Kind of makes sense since what are you going to do phone your friend everytime before you play to make sure he is not playing at the same time. :)

Hmm. That might be true. However, laws on this kind of stuff vary from country to country, and "End user agreements" is NOT law...

This is the official Paradox site, so It can and will be enforced here. ;)

We do not support Pirates. Period!
