Played a short game of Hivetasia with Labby, Absolut and Bob today and I kinda enjoyed it. Ofcourse Hivetasia is long out-of-date and it's got a few major flaws like high base tax areas like the Netherlands and Italy.

But: still, I'm willing to have a go at modding WAtK3v1 to make a fantasia version with 6-7 countries in Europe.

So who would be interested? :)

I would be interested. But what we need is balancing.
What is unbalanced.
1. Trade goods - some nations will get better ones.
2. Province base taxvalues.
3. Winter. Summer provs are much better, cause winter ones gives attr to troops.
4. Religions and techgroups. Should be equalled and pagan religions should be removed.
5. Monarchs. Should be one 5-5-5 monarch for all time I think.

But I WILL be interested if you will start playing.

what is timing ?

Goods can be randomized, and the very high western base tax areas can be halved or cut. Winter is a two edged sword and shouldn't be a problem. Everyone will have the same monarch (as in Hivetasia) and everyone will start Catholic able to change to whatever they like.

Don't know yet, but I'd like some input on the scenario first before I start thinking of days and times. :eek:o

May I advice to locate all player countries around mediterrean then?
And why is that? I was planning to put someone in Iberia, France, Lowlands/Germany, UK, Balkans and Russia.

well, basically, not much fun of eu2 last time, but i may join new game of this format.

I prefer not late finish. Probably standard for weekday 19:00-23:00 CET. Of course i would prefer earlier, but normally people can`t start before 19:00 CET.

Because IMO, if you don't have much players it's more fun to have them located quite near to each other. Also, the mediterrean allows everyone to have access to explorations land in wards, and access to the sea. You have more similiar countries then and a more balanced setup.

Otherwise you get the typical situation that, for example, a fantasy player located in England will become a 'real' England :)

Good point, in that case I'd (we'd) have to boost the north African base tax values and then drop the rest of Europe to levels similar to those in NA or something like that.

Engel,

This sounds a bit similar to the idea Aladar and I have of constructing an "equal" scenario. We will start this weekend with modifying WatK3.1 for this.

You may recall our earlier discussion of that.

Right now we aim to start the game on Thursdays in about one month's time. Perhaps we could work together, if you like our basic approach.

so will those religions be availible from 1419? Or will we start later?

If they're availible... why would anyone not do that? :p
Dude, you've played Hivetasia, you can convert in 1419...
