I started as the ruler of Oldtown in the Aegon's Conquest bookmark, and became King of the Reach. When I acquired it, the Reach used agnatic-cognatic primogeniture. I made no changes to the succession law. I then conquered the Iron Throne, which uses agnatic primogeniture. I haven't changed that (and couldn't, anyway, since I've only held the title for a few years). My Reach title was destroyed by event.
Almost all my vassals have an upset by succession law change relations penalty of varying magnitude. It can be -20, -40, or -60, and seems to depend on how long the vassal has held their title (but not which part of the realm they're in, whether they were my vassal before I acquired the Iron Throne, or their gender). I did increase crown authority in the Reach, but that has caused a separate -30 penalty (and anyway shouldn't have any effect on vassals in the Crownlands or Vale).
Does anyone know what's going on, and whether there's anything I can do to avoid similar penalties in future? This will make it extremely difficult for me to actually change the succession law: I want to go back to agnatic-cognatic so that my daughter can inherit, rather than my incompetent, dishonourable cousin (who is a known murder as well).
