My armies were the first to arrive and stayed until the very end, so why in whosever sake’s name is my ally getting the city?
Now that’s a rather odd thing. But good to know for the next time.I asked a similar question before:
Short questions about occupation and sieges
Hello everyone, after testing the new aspects of 2.0.X with large nations, I went back to play small tribes, as I did the last time in 1.5. As the first wars usually need help of allies, I have a few questions about occupations, which are not...forum.paradoxplaza.com
The skill of the general seems to be the reason for this.
If you are the leader of the war you can assume control of the siege. Theres a button when going the siege.
Edit: some types of vassal will occupy it for you , ie. it will be your colours that occupy.
If they're different wars the one that gets there first gets the siege. You help someone for free basically.Okay now I’m really pissed. I (Athens) was sieging a province (Thebes) when another country whom I not allied to (Macedonia) came over and seized the siege. This is annoying. They even had less troops than me. So is this the way it really has to be, just because a general has more pips you can run around and steal other country’s sieges?!
Well that’s the thing, both of my levy armies were first to siege the province. Both had generals with 5 military pips whilw the Macedonian general had 9 pips.If they're different wars the one that gets there first gets the siege. You help someone for free basically.
It actually is army size. At least thats what the tooltip said to me yesterday as Thrace and sparta respectively took my sieges...From what I've seen, it's all down to general skill.
Even 3rd parties not involved in your wars can usurp your sieges if they have a superior general.
It's really quite stupid.
