So when I create a character I am still only seeing house customization that came with base game. Why I can't I use all the stuff that comes with GOT mod? I would love to use GOT stuff because some of it is amazing compared to base game.

Thanks in advance.

There is dragon fighter trait and a couple of other ones that I saw.

Some traits are too powerful for the customization I guess.

Read that wrong then,

but I do see the CoA differences then vanilla...

I just have vanilla content. The emblems are different but everything else is the same. I am not whining, love the mod but would really enjoy having all the colors, styles, variations/customization tools for creating a house sigil at my disposal with this mod. That would be really great!

I love the trait where you can make your new character a member of one of the great families. That was brilliant.

Really what's missing from the Ruler Designer are proper shields, which are vanilla for me. I don't know how to mod in other shields.

The shields in the ruler designer are those used for the creation of random dynasties. E.g., when you create a baron out of hammerspace, he is given one of those randomisedly atrocious arms. The GoT mod adds a few features -- replaces the crosses with seven-pointed stars, for example -- but doesn't touch arms creation otherwise, which makes sense since many armorial bearings in the source material are atrocious abominations. The arms of the named, pre-existing houses -- Targaryens, Starks, Hollards etc. -- are not created using the ruler designer's elements but custom, handmade files in the gfx/coats_of_arms folder. This works the same way as the Dynasty CoA DLCs for the base game. That is because the random arms designer and its ruler designer version are severely limited in what they can do, and in how they can be modded.
What can be done is replace the elements and colours present in the ruler designer for more aesthetic random CoAs, as has been done by the Prince and the Thane.

As a temporary solution, could we borrow ARKO's shieldpack?

Certainly. I'm no expert on ARKO's pack, but the things that can be done with some clever scripting are impressive. The TPatT team, for example, went through some extensive heraldic research to come up with a statistical distribution of tinctures which they then implemented by having the most used colours (Azure and Gules) appear several times in the list.

It would be great if someone who knows what they're doing could create a shield pack for this mod. I have no clue what I am doing so take no offense to this comment. :p

If you invite a masterless warrior ingame you will see these coat of arms that we are talking about. Most of them looks amazing and can't be used in the ruler designer.

Whenever i create a ruler with the Designer i always end up having to use that blue Lion since all the other options (Wheat and a bunch of arrows, Really?) kinda suck. You could at least readd the vanilla ones since there's a few that are usable in there as well. (The Eagles and the Fluer di lis) But until it gets touched up i guess its bizzarro world lannisters for me without the custom nicknames. Also i notice the Essos houses get dragons to add to tier COA, why not make it uniform?.
