Started as the Antigonid Kingdom, switched tags to Macedon. Enacted the last decision on the Hellenistic Empire mission tree (but are still missing a few on top that I'm working toward). I just realized that for some reason, my ruler's culture switched to Hellenistic. The problem is that it bumped Hellenistic up to Noble status, and it downgraded Macedonian down to Citizen. What the hell is up with that??? Is this WAD or bug? I don't remember reading in any of the decisions on the mission tree that my culture would change. This is vastly inconvenient and stupid. I can't even adopt people into my family because my family is the only ones who are Hellenistic.

If I enact nobles for Macedonians, it gives a -5% happiness to everything else. Even then, I don't know how to switch my ruling family back to Macedonian. Should I just go along and let all those nobles potentially downgrade? My research is still at the max ratio, but I'm not sure what it will do in the future.

Thoughts? What do you guys think I should do?

It is WAD. Keep the citizen status for the Macedonians, the nobles will not demote to citizens unless the noble desired ratio of your cities changes.

In fact, any culture with citizen status will end up having nobles as if you had them in noble civic rights, is a known bug.

Pops not from integrated cultures will start to assimilate to hellenistic.

The rewards are worth it:
