I'm a Determined Exterminator who's been an Existential Threat for 100 years, and the synthetic empires that revolted against their creators don't care about me and neither do the Awakened Ascendancies. I was really looking forward to having all my Mass Effect species (or as close as I could get them without mods) ganging up on me. I was looking forward to trying to bring synthetic empires to my side but having them develop a moral backbone and turn on me.

On top of that, is the AI going to become more proactive with building Megastructures and pushing for Ascension paths in the future? Because I think I've had about 2 empires get the first level of Psionic Ascension and it's the year 2458.

The machines won’t care unless it will harm them like the become the crises ascension perk which will destroy the Galaxy and everything in it. The rest of the galaxy may need you to be on the defensive in a end threat/extermination war to get the ball rolling. One other thing is that you might be to strong or do not have really bad relations with other empires.

There are several empires that don't care about me at all despite being an Existential Threat in the Crisis rating. Also, regardless of bad relations or strength comparisons, machine empires that are not Driven Assimilators or Determined Exterminators should at least have a chance of teaming up with organics against you. Not every machine empire needs to be so chummy with organics if they're not at threat, but they should have at least some moral standing and should have something to say about genocide on a galactic scale. It should be possible to sway a machine empire to your side, or at least persuade them to not attack you, but it should also be equally possible for them to tell you to get lost and take a stand against you. I want to be in that situation where the galaxy doomstacks all their fleets in an attempt to retake a key system, destroy a Star-Eater or anything important and I want to see a machine empire that I gave technology and resources to in those fleets ready to fight me.
