One thing I really want for Stellaris is the ability to change namelists without disabling achievements or vanilla multiplayer compatibility. I've seen other players talk about the same thing on multiple occasions.

I understand it probably requires more work than one might at first think (IIRC name lists are stored in the same kind of files in all Paradox games, and it may require new code to have name lists draw from localisation or other checksum-neutral files), but name lists can go a long way towards adding flavor to an empire, and adding even just one via mod cuts normal MP and achievements, despite not affecting the game at all.

Has a dev ever talked publicly about this? Do we know if there are plans to make name list mods no longer affect checksum in the future?
