I really hope this does not end up like all those EA games like the Sims, where every new game, they restart from scratch and resell all the old DLCs as something new (and sometimes even downgrade)

I don't think Paradox will do this, but I hope just so the game isn't boring AF (like imperator) all the CK2 DLC features are incorporated in the game from the start, and from there we get brand new DLC with new content that isn't rehashed from old games.

Basically it be like this

The 1.0 version of CK3 will include all the features of CK2+all it's DLCs, and on top of that new features out the box.

(Graphical reskins, multi-core use/gpu acceleration and improved performance are prerequisites and shouldn't even be needed to asked for)

I think it been said that the game will keep the best content/mechanics from released DLC but they have already said that certain mechanics aren't going to be in the base game like the nomadic government form and merchant republic to start with. Features such as pagan reformation and the ability to play as different religious groups are still going to be included. Some of the stuff maybe later readded as part of a free update or as part of DLC - we'll just have to wait and see. Unfortunately, the information we currently have is rather limited, as the game has only just been announced yesterday however I'm sure stuff like this will likely be cleared up in the future in development diaries.

Its been stated that CK3 will have the best and most useful features of CK2 and leave behind stuff that didnt work so well alongside other things that just couldnt be carried over. Kinda like Merchant Republics and Nomads (Republics are still really OP and unbalanced and Nomads from what they've said was extremely difficult to work with and make work).

Edit: Damn, got emu'd.

Haha, nevermind.

I don't think it's realistic to expect all the content from CK2. If you add up the development man-hours of every CK2 expansion, you're left with an extremely long and costly development time for an extremely complex game.
It makes more sense for everyone, to release the game once it's playable and has everything necessary for a 'core' CK3 experience. People who want to wait for more features beyond that point can do so, while people who want the game ASAP can get it ASAP.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we get a similar promise with Imperator? That it would feature the "best" and "most useful" features from previous PDX games like EU4 and CK2? That left us with one of the most boring/worst strategy games I've ever played.

You aren't wrong, but hopefully, they will be right this time. Imperator Rome really lacked character and content. It has good potential but lacked a satisfying polish. Stellaris had the same problem. Although, Stellaris' issues seem to stem from the fact it was a new completely title.

Imperator Rome was the successor of a game that was released over 10 years ago that didn't have the luxury of the seven-year development cycle that Crusader Kings II has had. I am hoping the developer for Crusader Kings III will do as they say and learn from the development of CKII and even I;R and release a game that will make the fans of the series happy. We'll just have to wait and see.
