CK2 has stopped launching from within steam or via the desktop shortcut with no error messages. Within steam, the green 'play button' turns to the blue 'stop' button as happens when games are launching then quickly returns to play. The steam app records I've played CK2 today - it thinks it is launching. No processes show on the task manager, no ck2 splash screen loads etc.
The only recent change between playing CK2 was the installation of EA play and troubleshooting for a game not working, I completed a clean reboot. That game is working fine now. I ended up completing the following:
"Right click it [EA anticheat.exe and .dll] > Properties - Digital Signature - Select the EA signature - Detailed information - View the certificate - Install Certificate - Use the default options and click next, next to complete it."
Windows 11 - Up to date
Clean reboot completed
Uninstalled and reinstalled steam and then CK2 from x86 to program files
No paradox documents folder found - can't try the borderless/full window text file fix
The compatibility fix for 'game not launching' doesn't allow me to select the reduced resolution as it greyed out
Verified game cache, no issues
SFC /scannow completed
Checked windows for updates
