IIRC the cost was nerfed mostly as a reason to nerf France by 1.7.

That is no longer necessary as you can disconect production from tax.

So, make it 2.5 or even 3.5 (yes, serious).

Also, when we will finally have dynamic choice for goods in colonies? With Trade or Economy idea groups improving the chance of getting GOOD stuff?

I wondered why it was nerfed so much while it used to be a nice good. It's a bit weird to have it on the level of grain...

The price only starts at 2.0. At year 1600 or so there's an event that increases wine price by 50%. There's a lot of events like this for different goods. Not gonna spoiler any more of them but if you play a full campaign i'd imagine most goods will have their prices changed by events like that by the end.

Increased to 2.5, event effect reduced a bit.

I forgot at the moment but didn't England owned one of the wine producing provinces in France? Might be good for England, too... if England can keep it. :p

I assume you mean Bordeaux.

Neat is it in hotfix?

Any reason to not make it even more expensive?

Not in the hotfix, at least not in patch notes. I'd imagine to comes with the End of June bigger patch.
And balance reasons i imagine since Wine is mostly produced in bunch of provinces in certain areas and that would boost some countries income by a lot (France, Iberia mainly).

Perhaps, but with the increase of province number, and development allowing big tax but small production, it´s quite easier to balance. Remove Wine here, decreae production there, raise Base Price.

I liked the old demand and supply system, sometimes only a handful of provinces ended up producing Cocoa or whatever in the new world and it made the good worth it's weight in gold.

Meh. It had its attractions, but it was awfully complicated and opaque.

K.I.S.S. principle should always rule, until/unless there is a truly compelling reason to do otherwise.
