Won't open save game file

I just started up an IGC game using the United States. I saved the game and shut down and when I came back, it won't let me select the game.


Not just that, it won't let me select any of my US save games from this session. I was able to save and load up prior to shutting down the game.


The only thing I did was mess around with some colonist numbers (which I've set back to the original numbers), but that wouldn't explain why the older save game files wouldn't work.

Ideas?

1. Some edit tool save games with a differnce string check that the **.txt etc is not showing on the saved games.

2. I have also spoken with some people who have edited and saved and had problems. The only conclusion to the probelm of no load in that case that we came to, was that there must have been an edit done somewhere else in the save file by mistake causing it to screw thinks up.

3. There may just have been something screwed with EU during that session causing the files to corrupt?? - but I've no experience of that myself.

Any help?.

I figured this out. Apparently, after you select the save game file, you have to click on the US shield at the top of the screen. Then it will work correctly.
