A mini/quick AAR with Romania. The nitty gritty.

Armageddon 1.3
Tech Team Capture On
Full IC takeover Off

Started as a German game and switched over. The German AI almost never seems to launch Barbarossa anymore. Maybe 10-20% of the time. I cheated with the Germans and gave them via cheat codes.
+300 manpower
+5% IC
20-50K of resources.

And I done the initial slider moves and started a X10 serial of Panzer I and a X30 serial of Militia. The AI seems capable enough to upgrade the panzers, and I also started the industrial tech researc along with CAS and Interceptors. And then I switched over to Romania. Germany I wish you well.

Anyway it was a nice quiet day in Romania and a new commander came along. Believing in pacifisim he decided to disband the Romania army, retaining a few mountain troops and an obsolete understrength tank division. The navy was also scrapped along with part of the airforce.

Romania required some new factories. By scrapping everything, enough resources became available (24.95/25 IC) to build almost 5 factories at once. An extra tech slot was required in late 37.

ScreenSave16.jpg

Short of resources and money Romania shopped around as we had some oil for sale. A rather nice chap with a smashing mustache offered us a reasonably good deal on some bits and pieces. With money you can influence the world don't you know.

ScreenSave17.jpg

A year or so dribbled by and Romania got a bit lonely. More or less unarmed in a big scary world, Mr Hitler agreed when we asked him to be friends. Such a nice chap. Wouldn't hurt a fly.

ScreenSave18.jpg

Generous lot those Germans. Very forthcoming with required technology at a more than reasonable price. We still have no army worthy of the name although the first lot of factories are complete. Unfortionately Bulgarian agents have delayed the production of one. INstead of being ready in December it will be ready in March 38. 39/40 IC will be ready in december. Bastards. They'll pay for that, what can we do? Not alot still have no army.

ScreenSave19.jpg

you and your worst AARs...

planning on resisting the vienna diktat?

Hmmm another Zardnaar AAR. Just dont make this one too short :p, since I enjoy reading your AAR's.

Also about giving Germany extra resources, why not give the Soviets less manpower to build divisions with? Just a thought, but otherwise I shall stall tuned

I noticed that your 1937 slider move was towards Closed Society? Why would you make a slide there when you could max out on Central Planning and get the +15%, etc? I'm sure you knew what you were doing, but I'm still curious...

But looks great so far, although your current army looks like it won't be able to match that of the Soviet Union :p

I've been going towards central planning, hawk and authoritarian once when I couldn't go towards central planning. I've had a couple of random events fire and they may have moved them or the AI as I started on the 3rd or 4th of January 36.

Mico 94 Romania is a peace loving country and will have to accept any demands placed on her. I name them the worst as I usually try something stupid with a high probability of my plans backfiring into my face. This one may end up as Soviet puppet.

By 1938 the factories were complete. Due to increasingly large government research grants Romanias research ability had expanded by 50%. German blueprints from Mr Hitler sped along our heroic efforts. The Bulgarian Bastards had left peace loving Romania alone.
ScreenSave20.jpg

1939 rolled around and limited rearmament was begun due to tensions in Europe. Only a few units were ordered on the off chance that Fiji would invade. Never trust those Fijians.
ScreenSave22.jpg

Mr Hitler decided to invade Poland. Bastard. Despite once codial relations between our countrys the mighty militia army honours the Axis pact and aids the Germans. A few alpine and regular army troops help out.
ScreenSave23.jpg

Poland gets steamrolled and Romania ends up with Zamosc. Why the hell would I want Zamosc? The Germans happily trade it for some blueprints, a tub of yoghurt, handcuffs and a signed picture of the Fuhrer in a mankini..
ScreenSave25.jpg

1940 rolls around and still not alot has happened in Romania. Germany is currently fighting in France while resource shortages plague the country as trade from Germany is literally cut off. An increasing amount of imports have to come from the USSR. They ask for some border territories and we have no choice. Bastards. By now conscription is taking place and numerous infantry divisons are rolling off the production lines.
ScreenSave27.jpg

Later on the Hungarians backed by Germany also ask for a slice of Romania. Getting used to being rogered in this game- not loving it. The Bulgarians demand Constanta. They can go and jump in the Black Sea. On the plus side, we're no longer at ar with the UK. If they didn't delay my factory I may have let them have Constanta. But probably not. Bastards.
ScreenSave28.jpg

Note the Romanian infantry entrenched on the mountains with artillery. Hungarians- bastards.

Anticipating a Hungarian betrayal, Bulgarian troops advance into Constanta. Surprisingly enough th Hungarians offer a deal. The full weight ogf the Romanian army is available to crush the Bulgarians. I hope they enjoyed delaying that factory.......
ScreenSave29.jpg

Constanta falls to the Bulgarian army. An immediate counterattack is launched. Overhead the few Romania CAS craft inflict severe casualties on the Bulgarians as they retreat.
ScreenSave30.jpg

38 Divisions attack entrenched Bulgarian troops in the mountains of Plevan. In case of Hungarian betrayal, reserves are entrenched on the mountains around Bucharest.
ScreenSave31.jpg

The Bulgarian airforce has been destroyed on the ground, while our proud forces advance. They dared to demand Constanta off me? Our CAS continue to tear them a new one.
ScreenSave33.jpg

Sofia must die so that we can live. After a brief fight the Bulgarian defenses collapse.
ScreenSave34.jpg

As Sofia falls to faster moving Alpine troops, a peace proposal is made. Romania becomes larger, can't wuite recall anything about Bulgaria. SOmething or other about them delaying a factory and demaing Constanta. An allyless Romania faces the future all alone.....
ScreenSave35.jpg

Looks like this will not be a historical AAR! Chart your own destiny you Romulans... eh, I mean Romanians!

if you let Bulgaria occupy constanta, then hungarians would have left the axis & DoWed you.
and you would 've gotten your hungarian lands back + all of hungary

I did let them occupy Constanta and I just had another game and done the same thing and Hungary betrayed me:)

Just didn't happen in this game. Turns out I made a few mistakes, but now I know how to do the "perfect" Romanian start.

A Declearation of war is made on Yugslacia. No justification, but they were there so why not? An assault into Nis from multiple provinces is launched.
ScreenSave36.jpg

Belgrade falls after a short fight. The Axis have also decleared war on Yugoslavia. Romania annexes the country and inherits its eastern provinces.
ScreenSave39.jpg

Greece DoWs us????? Not a probem but it means we're at war with the UK- again. A few spare divisions invade but the Italians beat us to Athens.
ScreenSave40.jpg

If I'm at war with the UK may as well. Germany welcomes Romania back into the fold.
ScreenSave44.jpg

With Yugoslavia and Greece humbled, Romania turns its sights to the east. The Ottomans invaded us once upon a time and now its payback.... My CAS clear the way and it was an easy campaign.

ScreenSave46.jpg

Sorry for the quick rpelies but it didn't turn out how I thought which I wanted to invaded Hungary. Also I want to get to the main event and the Balkens didn't turn out as planned.
