I keep thinking about this for years and feel like LoTR third age would translate to DH beautifully. Unfortunately I don't have much experience with modding, but I have written events and edited province values before.

Based on my understanding of DH mods, one of the hardest thing for mods is to edit the map, and I am not even sure if it's doable or not. Just wanna say that I would help anyway I can for a third age mod.

From reading modders's posts how much time they invest... I guess you will not only need to think about it for years but such a total conversion project will be HUGE and will also need years of work and quite a dedicated group.
 
Yes, I know that it's not a simple task. Unfortunately I lack the skills to lay down the groundwork for mapping but I could contribute with event writing, province editing, creating division names, laying out the framework and mechanics for the imbalance between factions.
