So I recently dug into some mods, checked stuff out etc. and got told that the mods who add a GAZILLION of new community made mechs are actually not multiplayer compatible.

However, I also got told, that only adding the mechs to both clients via mech definitions and community asset bundle _should_ work.

Unfortunately, I have no clue how this could be pulled off. For example, I see in the Extendend 3025 mod, that there are CAB files, chassis files, mechdefs, etc.
Someone told me that, as long as there is no DLL injection or runtime changes through injection, these mechs could be used for multiplayer.

Where do I start understanding all this? How could it be done? I am a TOTAL NOOB when it comes to modding. I don't even know if I would be able to understand it, but I would try... lol
I know, most people play singleplayer only, but me and a good old friend are playing at least 2 matches a week. Though at this point we probably played every possible combinations of mechs there is.

Cheers!

Is the modding community dead by now? No one left to explain how to a add a custom mech from the CAB resource files just using JSON files and the manifest?

*goes to a corner and cries a bit*

The community is far from dead, just that it mostly operates on discord servers versus here (real time chat, ability to post work and links).

I see that you asked on the RogueTech discord, which is generally the most active. We are simply in a big push right now. I'd answer your specific question if I was able but mech making is not my specialty as I do code work
