Hi everyone I'm Jordan from the USA. I have played hearts of iron for many years but just resently wanted to start playing online but never knew how to. I noticed that the online match making service went offline for good some I'm here to figure out how you all play games online together and how I could get into one of them. I'm sure there are posts here somewhere about all this but I figured I would post a new topic being new and all and maybe get some quick answers or links to relavent posts. Thank you for your help in advance hope to play with all of you soon.

Well since hoi3 is coming very soon...

Well first of all, HoI 3 will probably have a lot of unfinished stuff when it gets released, especially with multi. So I don't think HoI 2 multi would just die immediately.
And then, I think most ppl currently use the Arma with the 1.3b 2 patch, here: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=402220
The IP is just like 84.248.111.131 I have, that you will just write when you go from the game menu to multiplayer and then Direct IP.
But the hardest part is opening your ports. This thread here explains it a bit : http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=187623
If you are using a firewall, you need to open the ports there. If you are using a router, you need to open the ports there. Sometimes you might be really lucky that you don't need to do anything, but bear in mind, that for some reason HoI 2 is much more sensitive with this port thing than other games.

Thanks for your help storm I did all that now looking for a way to test to see if i can connect to someone who has actuly played with other people before that way if it dont work I know its my end you think you or someone could help me out there?
Yea sure, check the GMT game thread. I have played with some 40-50 ppl, so the prob shouldn't be at my end.
