Well, time is one thing. The main thing HOI mp players require is responsibility, so its good not to sign up for games you can't make, or might have trouble making. On the other hand, if you expect to sign up with a good solid group of players who are reliable, and will make it through a whole game, you are probably going to have to accept playing a minor until people get to know you.
 
it seems that there aee so few players around to play. i look at this forum and see maybe 7 or 8 games on the go with all the majors taken. i regard myself as a regular player who wouldnt let anyone down.

i can play pretty much anytime on satuday and sunday and on monday - thursday anytime from 18.00gmt onwards. i still hope that 2 or 3 guys who arent in games but who like to start one will respond.

I dont know if I would label myself reliable especially when you signed up for the K2 Friday game and didn't show nor post. :)
 
sorry if there was a misunderstanding but if u look back the last post i made on your thread u will see i merely enquired what countries were available. i never "signed up" or said i would be there :) also as i posted, friday night is the one night i cant play

Games are going on all the time. I am asked to join an ongoing game at least once a day. I have three current ongoing games. I am sure that if you would agree to be a minor with a group, just like all the people I know who play regularly did when they started playing MP, you would find that you would soon enough play majors in regular games.

But you gotta earn your stripes.

Part of the problem is that when new players come along and take a major in a game with 5 to 8 guys, and then they fuck up or just don't bother to come back the next week is that the 5 to 8 guys have just wasted a lot of time for nothing. So its not so much a matter of "skillz" but people learning they can count on you.

The other thing is rules. A lot of guys come into MP with a lot SP conceptions of what is allowed or not allowed, and there are numerous things that people do in SP, that people don't do in MP, and learning the rules of a group takes some time, and having to explain everything to people, and occassionally going back to an auto-save can be a pain in the ass for everyone. It especially a problem when majors break rules.

So, that is my two cents.

Now that you mention it, you're right! I guess you never really did sign up. Hmm, my bad..... my apologies!!
 
no probs kingtiger. yeah cueball i understand what u mean when u say people want experienced/reliable players to play as majors.

i just thought there would be a lot more european or east us solo players like me who aint in games and would like to start afresh. i assume this is the main forum to arrange mp games or are there other popular ones?
