This seems more like a bug than a "WAD" to me, but the WWI triggering events NEVER seem to fire when playing a GC 1836 game.

This makes the conversion to DD excessively off, of course, and almost makes converting pointless! Is there a way to fix this? I've tried triggering the events manually, but that doesn't seem to work unless you play the country that is involved in the event......

the chances that the wwi setup is gonna be around by 1914 after playing some 100 years are almost 0 hence there is no ww1 events, if u want to play ww1 and convert to DD from there i suggest u play the ww1 scenario.

There are no events for WWI in the GC file. It was early decsion dating back to original Victoria that it would be just too difficult to get an event in place that would fire WWI in a logical manner. So when we came to do Revolutions we accepted that a covertion for 1836 would probably produce unusual maps of Europes and left it that. Instead we focussed on the 1914 scenario, with the more limited time frame it is easier to be able to script events for a historical looking world. So I am afraid I going to have to call this WAD.
