I tried to install the X-MOD (from http://fanfantasy.info/_en/) on my Windows 7 computer. Majesty 2 and all of the expansion play fine, but once I editted the resource.pak file (using Total Commander) I got the following error:

"Cannot launch Majesty2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim. The data integrity was damaged, changes in resources detected. Please, re-install the game."

Of course the resource files have been changed, I'm installing a mod. Does anyone know how I can get around this error? Are the developers trying to discourage modding?

well, first of all, this should go to the user modification section.

Second, you should not modify the resource.pak. all your modifications should go to the resource.mod folder in the root game folder. hope this helps.

Thanks you Hapuga. A couple of followup questions.

1) where is the user modification section? I tried to post into the fanfantasy.info forum, but I don't speak Russian and translators didn't translate the interface.

2) Right now my resource.mod folder has one directory "localization". That has 3 files (2 xml, 1 txt). Where do I put the mod files exactly? Do I need to zip them up into a pak?
