Bug Report: I have since determined the resolution but still wished to post it as a bug. I was not prompted for credentials by the app on launch which ultimately led to the forever load and black screen. Not from XBOX and cnsidering the black screen never got far enough in loading the game to be prompted in-app to sign up or login.
The Microsoft call to check credentials with Paradox did not appear to work. Manually linking my account through the Paradox website to XBOX appeared to then prompt for credentials on my next launch attempt hwich I then confirmed. ONLY THEN did I get into the app to then be prompted to sign up or login.
