Saw that tech demo on youtube claiming Stellaris got a new Xbox Series X/S enhancement/optimization. Claiming you could run through the year 2440 in a large galaxy at 60 fps with years averaging around 93 seconds. So I'm stuck here wondering why me and the boys are over here running 15 minute years at 20 fps with constant DESYNC errors by the year 2295.

3 player multiplayer all on Xbox Series X. All of us are running 300mbps download and 25mbps upload speeds or better with no packet loss, according to the xbox diagnostics in the settings. All of us running less than 40 ping. All of our xboxs show up to date on software. All our games show up to date with all dlc installed, got the Lithoids got the new senate system and origins and everything. All of us run set ups that allow us to run full 60fps in our xbox settings with 4k/hdr on.

Seems to be a multiplayer only issue as well. Solo works fine. Even 2 player actually worked pretty good some of the time. But generally once you get into multiplayer you get DESYNC error when someone joins and every about hour or so into the session more DESYNC happens.

I've already put in a ticket but i want to call more attention to this as I've only seen about 3 or 4 other posts about the horrible multiplayer experience with jittering, fps drops, DESYNC and general slowness since the update dropped. Cuz this doesnt feel optimized. It actually plays WORSE than it did when me and the boys played on pur Xbox One X consoles.

I got a reply to my ticket, here is a copy paste:

"
Hey there!
Thank you for the report! I've created an internal ticket and sent it to the developers for further investigations. Hopefully it's something that they can address in an upcoming patch but sadly we have no way to tell when/if it will ever be fixed! Now they know it exists though"

The worst kind of replies are the ones where you say "hopefully" it can be fixed and "if it will ever be fixed". Based on this reply and the replies a couple of my friends got it almost sounds like they had no idea this was a problem which literally means they didnt play test the damn update before launch and that tech demo was a completely fabricated video.

Everyone has been reporting multiplayer issues.

You said yourself "Seems to be a multiplayer only issue as well." so that video was obviously taken in single player
And thats a huge problem. It was not obvious enough. The tech demo makes out that this was a console optimization and set an expectation of average runs. Multiplayer should not be an exception to this at all. If youre okay with only solo running well thats on you. But i am not.

Oh no, I’m not saying it is fine, just that the video wasn’t faked

Glad to know we're on the same page. Saying the video is faked is probably more an emotional reaction on my part. But i did feel misled after watching the tech demo then having the experience im having now with friends. Its what got me hyped about the update and now im left with the bitter taste of disappointment in my mouth.

We got tons of desync and strange issues when continuing. Like not being able to build ships, getting only 2 instead of 3 research alternatives etc. I hope they patch it. Multi-player is broken with 2.6. I get desync every time in the very first tick.

Played about 100 years in a solo game last night to try out lithoids. Experienced the same issue, so slow once all empires discovered and to top it off about every ten seconds founder species in the slave market notice (which is new to me) started to drive me a little crazy.

Below is a copy paste of the most recent reply i received to my personal ticket on this issue!

"Let me put your fears to rest: this problem will be fixed in an upcoming patch. I spoke with the Stellaris team a little while ago and the developers are going to try and get a hotfix ready for certification next week. Once that's approved from MS they will be able to release it and hopefully fix all these problems."

Progress is being made, thank goodness!

This is happening to me as well. My friend and I can not get into the game more than 5 minutes without having a sync issue. We thought maybe the new update has caused some issues with our saves and we restarted three times with varying conditions (lithoids installed, not installed, fresh restart, xbox and just the game) and we still haven't had any luck.

We are trying a fresh reinstall of the entire game and we will see if this works. Will update later.
