What.. is your name?

But no, seriously, I have 3 questions and I'm not sure where they go. Actually one of them is a small bug I spotted that pertains to the second question.

The first is something of a general CK2 question, but how do I keep my Allies from fucking me in battle by putting their horrible Martial 2-3 leaders in charge of the flanks instead of my awesome 25+ leaders?

Second is how do I modify the nicknames? I did it once before, like 10 patches ago, a simple copy and paste job from Targaryan and Baratheon to give Blackfyre and Bittersteel a bit more flavour. But now everything has changed, and looking at dynastic_nicknames.txt it looks like more than a simple copy and paste is in order.

And while I was poking at that, I noticed the following under House Vaith's list of dynastic nicknames, which seems to be a clear error.
nick_the_lionknight ={}
nick_the_crimsonknight ={}
nick_the_wolfknight ={}
nick_the_fireknight ={}
nick_the_stagknight ={}
nick_the_spearknight ={}
nick_the_sunknight ={}
nick_the_roseknight ={}
nick_the_fishknight ={}
nick_the_krakenknight ={}
nick_the_foxknight ={}
nick_the_eagleknight ={}
nick_the_bearknight ={}
nick_the_mermanknight ={}
nick_the_towerknight ={}
nick_the_griffinknight ={}
nick_the_oakenknight ={}
nick_the_appleknight ={}
nick_the_boarknight ={}
nick_the_houndknight ={}
nick_the_thornknight ={}
nick_the_turtleknight ={}
nick_the_swanknight ={}

Which I assume shouldn't be there, and I figured I'd point it out.

1. You can't.
2. I did this sub-mod a while ago, it's out of date since university take priority. If you give me a little more details on what you want to do on the nickname I'll help you. So, what do you want to do specifically? Created new one? Apply existing one to another dynasty? Change the existing one, for example the magnificent dragon replacing the great dragon ?

I was really just hoping to copy and paste the Targ and Baratheon nicknames over to Blackfyre and Bittersteel, it's a lazy but simple patch job that makes things just a bit more flavourful if I manage to win to the rebellion. As I said I've done it once before but that was so long ago I've forgotten and on top of that it's probably been changed, since last time I figured it out by combing through the various mod files until I found the right ones. I found dynastic_nicknames.txt, but it can't be as simple as adding some lines to that, can it?

For starter the Blackfyre can already get the Targ nicknames. Second, I don't see why a Bittersteel would be call the Black Stag or whatever but your choice. Since I'm a nice guy I did it for you. Now here how it works: put the file in the event folder in the GoT mod folder. Overwrite it of course. The only difference in the 2 files is a line in the baratheon nickname giving event that make Bittersteel dynasty eligible for those sweet nicknames. The line in question is dynasty = 7000 under the event nickname.4. If you want more detail feel free to ask.

Oh, I did not know that and feel extra dumb now, but the last time I played this mod the Blackfyres didn't have any dynastic nicknames (and my rebellion keeps failing mostly because my allies screw me in battle).

And more importantly, thankyou. I wasn't expecting you to do the work for me and I wish I'd checked events more thoroughly and saved you the trouble. And yeah, Baratheon nicknames are cool which is why I went with them originally, and I didn't realize that was a horse with wings until recently. I imagine it's tricky to come up with a nickname for winged fire-breathing horses.

It was only a single line of text, not much. And to be fair nickname like the Black Demon Horse are a bit long for Bittersteel. If you have any more question about how the dynastic nickname work don't hesitate it will be my pleasure to help.
