Good lord Stellaris is unplayable at the moment, but it seems like some people are managing to keep playing after the desync happens.
From my own experience the only fix to a desync (which in our game drops the player that desyncs or all players if I; the host desync) is to rehost a game, which luckily doesn't take too long with decent internet, but the frequency of them is getting ridiculous.
I as the person with the worst videocard am hosting, which is what a lot of people are recommending, though I'm not the player with the worst internet connection, other people seem to claim that autosaves make it worse, however disabling both cloud saves and autosaves entirely has made very little impact if at all.
The current game seems to desync every couple of in-game months, and we probably spend more time reconnecting than actually playing.
to make things worse, the desyncs are never the same twice in a row. One time it'll be;"RANDOM_COUNT", another it may be "POP_MODIFIER" or whatever they're called. rehosting from an older save, or one made after the desync doesn't seem to make a difference, and neither does slowing the game down, besides making it take longer in
real-life time.
What I want is for Paradox to tell us:"Hey community, we hear you, we're gonna try to fix these gamebreaking bugs."
I don't need a refund or the community to shit on game developers that have made a game with their hard work, but I just want to be able to play with friends. Preferably this century.
So yeah Paradox; COMMUNICATION IS KEY, TELL US WHAT YOU'RE UP TO OR WE'RE GONNA THINK YOU'RE IGNORING US.
happy quarantine, though not with your friends in stellaris at least.
