This is my attempt of starting an unoffical "black list" of players that are known to be bad boys during multiplayer. It is one thing to cheat the computer, but to cheat another human and just be a disgraceful player is uncivilized. I print this with the intent of enlightening others so that they wont waste their time so the distrustful can wet their sick appetites.

Anyone who wishes to add to this list is encuraged to do so....but please do it for valid reasons and not just to tarnish the reputations of others.

And of course I have one of my own to add right away. I worn all others who play EU2 multiplayer to use caution when playing with the character:

Prince Eugene

he is one to renig on verbal agreements.....and even worse....he renigs at just the oppertune time to ruin one's chances of having a fair game. I advise to play with him at your own risk and I strongly advise any alliances/aggrements with him. His monarch should be considered an early rendition of Hilter...as his tactics are very nazi like (no offense ment to any others ).

This is rather unfair. A blacklist for people who do things outside the game rules or spirit is one thing, but just because someone reneges on an agreement....

Such things did happen in the real world, and is part of the game. For instance, I think one of the serious faults in the game is that the AI doesn't renege on loans - if it did, people would be much less likely to give them. I certainly would consider it fair play (if a little provocative) if a human refused to pay back a loan

well is all fun to renig on deals...but i sure dont like wating my time playing with people who are just going to take advantage of it. its just as bad as quiting a game without telling anybody. I'd rather just not play with those kinds of characters. and a black list is totally fair.....dont do anything wrong and your name wont appear.....whats unfair is not having a chance to know who is clean and who has a track record for dishonoring themselves

what is unfair about a black list???
i see not having one as more unfair.
it gives those who chose to dishonor themselves free reign to do so and others have no chance to be warned.
as long as the list isnt personally insulting to those who appear on it, no harm should be done
act with honor and you have no worries
act disgraceful and others will hear of it.

and yes countries did renig on lots of deals in that age and time. it earned them a bad reputation......why should it be any different now???

Of course those accused have the right to be defended, and I personally defend Prince Eugene. I have played with him multiple times and have enjoyed the experience each time. Perhaps if there will be an "official blacklist" there should be votes ;) You can never escape the inefficient democracy!

The problem with this is that this isn't really cheating. It may be dishonorable but it's not cheating. :D Every human player can change alliances or renege on a deal that's part of the game. If I were you I would just be very careful in dealing with Prince Eugene in future games. Sometimes in a game someone does something that makes you think that you've been stabbed in the back. Well in real life it happened all the time. Honor was just a word for most rulers and diplomats. History is replete with leaders switching sides because they thought the other side was winning. If Prince Eugene did indeed say one thing and do another then chalk it up to experience and learn from it. Once fooled shame on you twice-fooled shame on me. ;)

Better watch it, or you will be considered guilty by association! McCarthy is back!

Seriously though, I think a lot more information needs to be presented before claims are made about someone's honour.

Well, instead of a blacklist why don't you just describe what happened, from your point of view? That would let others judge for themselves, and wouldn't be quite as offensive to those on your proposed blacklist.

what was i supposed to do???
i could of tried to fight but since i had just given all my money to the accuesed how could i fight a war against a nation with a higher land tech???
maybe i wouldnt of seen the DoW so unjust if it hadnt happened just after the moment i gave all my ducats away after being told by the accused that now was the time to do it.
and why bother to fight a war that would be unfairly a losing cost.
i just find it very unjust what was done
i was not hiding my text from anyone so it was easy to tell that i had just given all my money away. that is not the time to DoW if you are an honorable player and you certainly do not join in an unjust war with a disgraceful allie if you are an honorable player.
and like i said before, i did not advise anyone to not play with this young character.....i just advise the use of caution when making deals or any sort of agreements.
i admit my original post may of been out of spit...but i stand by it in the fact that i did no personal assualts against my foe more than he did by his disgraceful play and unconcern with wasting my time in a game that would be brought to such an end.

Sounds like a good player, doesn't it?:D

Remember that even with a blacklist nothing would really stick seeing as how you can change your username just as readily as you put on a new pair of shoes.

"Oh, so I'm blacklisted as 'CrazyCanuck_01'? Alrighty! I shall now be known as 'LunaticLaotian_06.' No one will recognize me now!!"

Even with permanent usernames I would be suspect of a blacklist. After all, who decides who goes on it, and what makes them the expert? If you feel you've been wronged by someone my advice to you is to challenge them to another game and solve the problem that way. Don't get mad, get even.
