Well, not really, if you're just milestone completists.
But having a Mohole wonder makes you actually able to finally colonize all of sectors in your map. Use those metals to make tons of cables, pipes, and solar panels. Use those rare metals to finance your expansions. Use the waste rocks for concretes.

In the end, only your boredom limits your imaginations at this phase.

Thoughts?

I think all resource 'deposits' help you spread your domes nicely over the map. its just a matter of either recycling your old domes and build new ones. Especially in the early game, later you should have enough of everything to build whatever you like :)

Started with small domes and then just used them for individual deposits (metal and rare metals), recycled some of the smaller domes after the deposits run out as 'people management domes' and educational dome, as well as farm/food domes. It is all in the balancing of them resources though, keeping an eye on the water and rare metals to keep the expansion going... and scrapping stuff when you dont need it anymore.

I only recycled dome once, I think, when it was not repaired after hit three tomes by meteor. I already had full polymer depots nearby but the drones simply ignoring it, causing mass suicide....

Did you set it to the highest prio? and had the near by depot stock polymers?? I find that most of the fails come when I try to be to 'smart' with my inventory systems...

Yes, I did. I even over-imported polymers from earth. I think there was a bug that has been patched connected to that dome crack's ignoring behaviour.
