Young Griff question

My question is, if you don't start in the AFFC scenario, will Young Griff actually appear at any point to claim any titles in Westeros?

Or will he never become an adventurer and/or gather support outside of the AFFC scenario?

Anywhere from RR onward he can if you have not disabled it with the Dance of Dragons Spoiler Remover game rule

I'm not sure if this is on purpose but for me he almost always shows up during the first Megawar after he turns 16. Only time I've had him show up during peace time is right after a ruler death.
