Zunbil Satrapy in 769 is quite popular and challenging start. Historically, Zunbils ruled Zabulistan until the Saffarid conquest in 870.

In CK2, there are no Zunist counties in 867 start date, last ruler of Zunbil dynasty is a Sunni vassal of Saffarids, and Zabulistan is ruled by Buddhist Shahi dynasty of Kabul. The reason for no Zunism by 867 was because it was added as a part of Charlemagne DLC.

I hope that Zunist religion will be back in CK3. I think in 867, Zabulistan should be independent, have Zunist counties and be ruled by Zunbil dynasty. Being a three-county pagan duchy located between Sunni Saffarids and Buddhist Shahi, this start will be even more difficult than CK2 769 start.

(Also, since we are talking about old challanges, I hope Hunas dynasty in 867 gets upgraded from barony to county in CK3, so White Hun will still be possible)

Yeah, I guess they wanted Zunists to be exclusive to players with Charlemagne, but now that we have moved past 769, I see no reason why they shouldn't add the Zunists and Zunbils in 867. It might not be the most historical thing because they fell a few years later, but Zunists are easily one of my favorite starts, and it would be a shame to see them go in CK3.

Yeah they can give the 867 Zunists events like Vushmgir in 936 has, to make it easier to revive it. AI will probably not take the option to secretly convert to Zunism but players can.
