CK2 Dev Diary #111 - Until Next Year

Hello all,

It has been a wonderful year for CK2, and I hope you all agree. A lot of work was put into Holy Fury which from the reception seems to be time well spent. We are not quite ready to talk about the next year but when we are you will be the first to know. We will now present something with no further comment.

Happy holidays, we hope you have a great winter break and we will be back next year.

So anyway, I looked up this Killian Experience person on youtube and only three of his videos are about Paradox titles. Is there some reason why people think this is enough that paradox would know or care about this guy? I mean the panda thing could easily be a coincidence.

The three youtube videos in question for anyone who's curious.

As far as the animal kingdom thing is concerned, I would say that we have enough appeals to the furry "community" as is(really, even one appeal is too many in my view), do we really need any more?

Thank God...the voice of sanity. The furry community have plenty of stuff to get their paws into. I have no problem with people being into anthropomorphism if that particular fetish floats their boat but I hope it doesn't start to take up valuable DLC dev time.

What are you guys even talking about? How has this anything to do with furries? It's just some game portraits replaced with animals. Since when are animals exclusive to furries?

How can people be confused?
There'll be new animal portraits during 2019. Here, that's all there is to know. How is that difficult to understand?
No need to call in the furries, no need to be like "omg it's a reference to a youtuber!!"
No. Animal kingdoms seem to be popular, so they expand it

Most of the animals aren't even anthropomorphized in the furry sense....and those that are aren't very good in that department. If you think that this is "furry bait", then you have never seen furry bait. Plus a lot of the "classic" furry bait animals (Foxes, Wolves, Tigers, Lions, Bulls/Cows) aren't even included and those that are (dogs, bears, cats, dragons) lack too many human characteristics to be "interesting" to most furries.
The majority of them are clearly normal animals, sometimes shoved into medieval clothes. And some, like the Dragons and the Horses, aren't even that.

He's a popular and funny Youtuber. People were making jokes.

(Foxes, Wolves, Tigers, Lions, Bulls/Cows)
Wha - How?
Nevermind, don't actually want to know

What's so hard to understand? People like cute animals, and an apparently famous youtuber who made some video about Pdox game has a cute animal as portrait. And if people like your content on the internet, they will talk about it, on the internet.
Why do you use a bunch of meaningless buzz word?
I think you're baiting. Please stop if that's the case.

I don't care how famous he is (his 600k subscribers barely put him in the top 10, amongst the people I am myself subscribed to). I like his content because he doesn't do simple let's-plays but he's a comedian who breaks them down and parodies them. Of course, there's more channels that do that, such as Zero Punctuation, but only Kilian has a cute animal as a portrait :p

I just like his voice.

Now that I come to think of it, I've seen "The morning and the evening star" repeated a lot as of late. How many know that particular line comes from Prince of Egypt?

I wouldn't expect it to just be surging now so long after the movie was actually produced, and as with many memes people will repeat them without knowing or caring for the source - so I must admit myself curious.

I'm pretty sure that is from the Bible.

It's not Biblical...but I'm pretty sure Ishtar/Inanna in Babylonia/Sumerian mythology was both the Morning and Evening star in her double role as goddess of love and war.
And it seems that references to the morning and evening star in the same sentence would have been pretty common in ages when people still sailed or measured time by the stars.

What's most likely the case is that using the "Morning and Evening Star" to refer to the Egyptian Pharaoh is an invention of the movie.
