I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the Qarmatians were vegetarians. Is this true? If, so qould it be represented by forbidding the hunting focus similar to Jainism? (And it should maybe be added to some branches of Buddhism as well?)

Bloodlines will be talked about on the Dev Diary on Friday.
Otto doesn't seem to have one yet as far as I know the ottonian dynasty claimed descent from Widukind.

Hate to repost this but I'm still curious about Kievan Rus in this start date

Will Kievan Rus' still be Slavic Pagan in this start date? Officially the Baptism of Rus occrued in 988 but there was a considerable Orthodox influence on the country ever since the 930s and many of the people living there were already Christian. Will this perhaps be represented by events or anything similar?

Yngvar/Igor will start as a Norse Germanic if a player chooses him, whereas his vassals will be Russian and Slavic Pagan. You will have a decision called "Local Traditions" that will let you change to Russian and Slavic Pagan yourself, that you can use right from the start. If Yngvar/Oleg is not chosen by a player (i.e, controlled by an AI), he will immediately flip to Russian and Slavic Pagan. There are no other events related to Kievan Rus though. I figure the conversion events added by Holy Fury would be enough to simulate the change (as it was one of the inspirations for the mechanic in the first place).

will the Infrastructure tech be changing again?
one castle tech and one city and temple tech seems a little strange
maybe one tech for light troop building(such as militia training ground mustering ground) and economy building
and one tech for heavy troop building(such as barracks stables city guard)

King Otto of Germany: In many ways Otto is the protagonist of the bookmark. He has just been crowned King, and has quite the task ahead of himself in trying to put together the Holy Roman Empire and beat back the pagan encroaching from the east (Hungarians) and the north (Norse tribes). To the west, the vassal holding the Stem-Duchy of Lotharingia (Lorraine), Duke Giselbert, recently changed his allegiance to the young King Louis Karling of West Francia. Not to mention the tumultuous kingship of Italy, that will be needed to recreate the Holy Roman Empire.

You guys can't imagine how I've always wanted to play with this character! :)

I hope that you are just mixing two people up, but he should be named Igor, not Oleg.

Two new cultures, a new heresy (Qarmatians), and some minor map reworks. Potentially some bug fixes. Besides that it is only the new bookmark.
So, would this map reworks made saves incompatible?

Previous map reworks haven't. New provinces just get filled in with their neighbours.

Another question: Is 'Sigurd Håkonsson Ladejarl' earl of Trondheim in this timestamp?

The Lade-dynasty held this title for several generations (often just refered to as the 'Ladejarls'), and one of them, Håkon, ended up ruling entire Norway from 970-995 with no king above him and is known as a fierce anti-christian, so it would be interesting to see the dynasty added.

Yes, he is. And I've set his son Hakon to have been born in 936 (with the Sturdy trait) as well. So feel free to play out your Lade dreams.

Whenever I've played recommended characters always have fixed traits.

While that might be the case for current ones, being a recommended character doesn't automatically grant you fixed traits (that's handled separately), so it is a valid question.

Great, that makes me very happy. As a Norwegian Håkon jarl is my hero :).

If you have time you could also for fun/flavour add the famous Egil Skallagrimsson as courtier somewhere, either in Norway or in England, he was a rival/enemy of Eirik Bloodaxe at this point and for some time served in Athelstans army with his brother Torolv.
