This autumn is turning out to be busier than I thought! There's much to do with Cities: Skylines and there's a quite a bit of events and travelling happening for me. It has not been helpful that the schools have started here in Finland and it always comes with the inevitable waves of plague. I caught the flu last week and was out of office until yesterday. Somehow the team managed without me and the scenario editor is moving along nicely. I hear that we might have some new disasters to show you soon too! However this week and the next we'll still fully focus on the editor so we get to start the work on the scenarios themselves.
So there are a bunch of things to work on for Natural Disasters and it is definitely keeping the team busy. I guess that is a good thing if you think about it from the player's perspective
We'll start to go through the features themselves in detail and explain what the expansion is all about in upcoming dev diaries. Any specific feature you would like to hear about first?
Some days I can't believe where the success of Cities: Skylines has taken Colossal Order and me personally. Yesterday I got to speak to Their Majesties King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway and the President of Finland Sauli Niinistö during Their Majesties state visit to Finland. Such a surreal experience and I was very honored to have gotten the chance (also super nervous beforehand...). Next week I'll travel to Barcelona to speak at a conference about urban planning and the week after that I'll head to Mallorca. We get a lot of requests for different events nowadays, but unfortunately can't attend all of them. We do have a game to develop you know
That's me on the stage acting totally cool in front of royalty
In any case I better get back to work, looking forward to sharing more with you guys in the upcoming weeks!
Cheers,
Mariina
