Things are getting busy at the office with the upcoming release of Europa Universalis IV, but as has been said before, we're still very much committed to the continued support and further expansion of Crusader Kings II. With Doomdark currently Down Under, Johan asked me to put together a short dev diary highlighting some of the current stuff we've been working on.

Patch 1.11:
1.11 will be deployed next week, and the new patch will include a few features that should make dealing with plots a bit easier. After hatching a plot, you can now tell the game to automatically invite all plotters who are willing to join your scheme. No more having to browse through the Potential Plotters list and individually sending requests to every single character who wants to join!

Also, you can now set the game to always demand that characters end their plots as soon as they come to your attention. Another handy addition is that you can now see at a glance which potential plotters can be won over to your side if they are bribed.

Among the other things added is a new Siege Leader trait (finally), a favorite IP table for the multiplayer menu and some additional support for modders.

Crusader Kings II to Europa Universalis IV Converter:
Johan already posted a dev diary about the Converter last week in the Europa Universalis IV forum, and there is an interview with Groogy here that goes into some more detail. I don't have much to add except that we're pretty pleased with the result and it actually works better than we had anticipated when development began.

Customizer:
This is a smaller DLC on the scale of the Ruler Designer, but it's something that many have asked for. It will give players an easy way to customize several items in their games when they are already well underway.

You can have your character pay a visit to the barber, where their hairstyle or facial hair can be altered... within reason (no bearded women, sorry). Below you can see the new look I gave King Charles II the Not-So-Bald:

You can rename any title held by you or your vassals:

Finally, if you feel the need to shake things up a bit, you can alter the name and shield of your dynasty:

Hopefully this will tide you over for a while, until we're ready to tell you more about what the future will bring to Crusader Kings II. :)

I hatched a plot to kill the Queen of Scotland. One of my backers had the drunkard trait. The plot was blown wide open by this drunkard telling all and sundry during a night in the tavern. For this reason, I always check the backers now before I invite them to back my plots.

Exactly why you DON'T invite every single person into the plot who has a green thumbs up. Some of them will blab.

Still waiting to see some additions to all the catholic factions, considering their current state of blandness. Hopefully "Crusader Kings" will have some better Papal mechanics, events and more crusade flavor in the near future.

I get that same event even if the other person isn't a drunkard. As far as I'm aware it always fires after a certain amount of time has passed.

I LOVE you guys.

It seems my question was swallowed up in a flurry of not-quite-relevant posts so I'll ask again. Is there an option to use short titles i.e. Byzantine Empire instead of "Empire of Byzantium." etc? Another thing that came to mind is will titles automatically revert at some point or will they be stuck with the name you gave them forever so there would't be any cultural name changes?

If the character is a drunkard, the event is twice as likely to fire. The same is true if the character is an imbecile. If the character is both, it is four times as likely to fire.

Besides making plot management easier we also added so fleets are easier to choose when heading out to battle. You can press ALT to select exclusively fleets now. Hopefully it should make your lives a bit easier :)

I'm interested to see what's in the change log.

I really like everything so far.

YES :D

p.s.: your "don't capslock everything in your message" system is really interesting...and strange.

Erm....not sure what you mean.
If I select a fleet and then drag a frame over the map I will only select fleets.
Is this the same thing without having to click twice?
If so: yeah! :)

No, if you have levies raised and you accidentally go over them with the box thing(if you're selecting A LOT of fleets you'll understand), only the levies will be selected.

See bolded part.
Afaik you will not select levies if you selected a fleet first.
Of course the shift-button will be involved - sorry that was probably unclear from my first post.

Yes now you can do it without having to select a fleet first. Just hold in ALT.
I know from playing MP with some guys here on the forum, it was an annoyance when going out raiding Player France
Anything that makes that easier is worth adding into the game.

These convenience tweaks are pretty awesome and are doing a lot to address some of the UI tedium that occasionally mars an otherwise excellent game; for the next patch can we get a 'split this stack in half' or 'detach siege' option as seen in EUIV?

Detach siege might be a bit tricky, with events constantly grinding down your force and holdings having vastly different siege thresholds.

Well, true, but you could just have 'detach siege' look at the largest garrison in a given province and detach a subgroup that is (e.g.) twice as strong as that garrison, which should mitigate both issues. Imperfect, but probably good enough, especially given that by the time you'll be wanting a 'detach siege' option, you're likely to be big enough that any single siege isn't a particular focus of your larger war effort.

+1 for split in half, but rather than detach siege (what does it do?) I'd like to see the army/flank reorganization button in siege view. Now you have to pause, move, reorganize, unmove, unpause to get it. Doing that also restarts siege engine construction, which may or may not be intended – using the new button could do whatever is correct.
