I solemnly swear that if Love & Lust wins the poll, I will add non-wolf pelt ways to prove your love to other characters.

By contrast, for every percentile that Love & Lust loses the poll, I will add one additional piece of wolf-only content to the romance scheme.

These are my terms. Vote as you will.

^ He does not have the time to promise these things.

I do, though. If Villains & Vagabonds wins, I'll remove all wolves from the game in its entirety.

Why not just do all three?
Opportunity cost. The Event Packs are a good way to spend time in between large expansions while we have people on post-release support and pre-production and production on the next, big thing. The scope of Event Packs are so concentrated that a smaller group can dive into it without a massive scope and flesh out a particular part of the game.

As an example: Friends and Foes was developed in the months between the Royal Court releasing and us working on the patches for it, and the Stockholm team committing to the expansion we are doing right now. They just threw themselves into it as an experiment, and we got Friends and Foes.

They've already curated each theme, and considering the scope of the last event pack there really shouldn't be much time and/or opportunity cost.

Friends & Foes wasn't just a whole load of events, remember. Yes there were events and yes they took time, but it also included an entire code system (memories, programmer time), a script system (House Feuds, designer time), multiple new event backgrounds (2D artist time), multiple new animations (3D art time), music (audio time) and a whole host of other bits and pieces. We call them Event Packs and that puts a natural emphasis on the time spent making events (which is admittedly considerable) but these are not small endeavours we chuck together in a week and a half on a whim, they're concerted multi-discipline efforts.

As such, I can guarantee you there's an opportunity cost to doing any one of those. So choose wisely!

Well since we're going to have something to do with tyranny and cruelty with Villains & Vagabonds could we have something the other way around too?
Like Herois & Virtudes, you know, there are people who like to play honorably trying to be a just king, protecting their people, fighting to return to their homeland that was taken unfairly by people who say that their only god is real ( I'm talking about the escape of the Sogdian people of Islam via the Silk Road ) respecting his wife while trying to give their children a good education...
Well from the current options I choose Wards & Wardens...
That's absolutely a possibility for Villains & Vagabonds! What is dread without honour to counteract it, after all?

I voted for Wards and Wardens, but I really hope they sort out the "just saving another character every time in a romance soulmate scheme" thing whichever ends up winning. Even just adding two or three different possible event endpoints for that would make such a difference.
[cocks wolfgun] If LL doesn't win, I'm deleting the seduction scheme. The only way to sleep with another character outside of marriage will be via wolf-slaying.

Rassin' frassin' makin' me defend L&L...

I feel love & Lust will only add more of those crazy cheating events with more bastard sons and daughters as result since in the base game they went overboard with these events which resulted in most of us that don't like this having to use mods that stops these.
The point of these packs is mainly to flesh out the content associated with certain aspects of the game. Friends and Foes was intended to broadly make your friends, rivals, lovers, etc. more relevant and fleshed out and impactful. It did include new events that generate these relationships because friends were quite uncommon before. Love and Lust may include new events that generate lovers, it would depend on how common it would be for players to encounter this content.

I want love & lust because I want events for my WIFE and to make the wife council role more consistent and usable (I have to be married and she can't be a ruler to use it?!?)

But the way its pitched i feel like it'll be orgies and cheating as usual.
The pitch for Love and Lust explicitly states it will focus on lovers and married life :)

Not even remotely the same thing. This is people expressing their dislike for the product they actually bought. Not to mention, the reception was highly negative here, on steam forums, and on Twitter.
This topic has come up before and I'll say here what I said there, we collect feedback from a variety of places. Steam reviews are part of that, but they're not the be-all-end-all. Threads here on the forums, the CK subreddit, the official Discord, and just general comments from people we personally know who play the game are all taken into account. CK is a big game with broad appeal and a lot of different types of players want different things, and we try to keep all of those perspectives in mind when collecting feedback ;)

I find it odd that the three main things people keep asking for:

-Trade
-Improved Religion/Crusades
-Byzantines

Paradox have specifically said they are not going to do.

Others in this thread have already pointed out that this is incorrect, but I thought I'd also lend the weight of my word to it: at no point have we ever stated that we won't do any of those three features. We've merely said that the next DLC won't cover certain features, of which trade is one. In fact, if you look at DD #109, all three of those themes are mentioned as things we do want to do in the future, whether that be near or far.
