Extra! Extra! In today’s news, we bring you new footage of the ongoing struggle on the South American continent. We will give you exclusive shots of the political and military development in Argentina, Brazil, and Chile.

It is yet unclear how the political landscape will evolve during this tumultuous time, though we have seen some prominent persons appearing in both the political and military landscape. Here are some of the most influential people we’ve identified:

Significant Figures from Chile

On the broader spectrum, our office analysts have looked into all the data we have collected and recognized a multitude of potential developments within the countries. No one can predict exactly how a country will develop in the future, but they’ve drawn a general image of some focuses that the nations might orient towards:

From our reporter on ground we have an exciting story on the military groups involved in the conflict in the South American region. Without further ado, we bring you this exciting interview.

marblemadness: So, Slurpen_Paradox, can you tell us more about what is happening behind the scenes?

Slurpen_Paradox: Yes! These are the most prominent armed forces that have been involved in the area.

ART_06.png

marblemadness: Jolly gee! Is that an armed civilian? These people look very dangerous. Are there any other forces involved in the region as well?

Slurpen_Paradox: I’m glad you asked! Other than the “armed civilian” there have also been groups driven by various political ideologies. Here are the ones I managed to capture on camera:

ART_07.png

Slurpen_Paradox: It’s not only ground troops that are fighting these battles. With the latest technological advancements we’ve seen in recent years all the primary countries involved in this conflict have acquired various planes, tanks, and armored vehicles to supplement their forces.

They seem to have a bunch of repainted ones as well as some that I haven't seen on the battlefield before!

marblemadness: All those vehicles looked dangerous. But hang on just a moment! This one does not look dangerous at all! Finally, some decent, upstanding…
ART_14.png

marblemadness: …oh. I see. It belongs to the Liga Patriótica Argentina. Is there any other footage you would like to share?

Slurpen_Paradox: Yes. During my time in the deepest parts of the Amazons I’ve brought with me some dramatic photographs from the battlefields.

marblemadness: Oh, that looks absolutely brutal! Thank you for bringing this exclusive look on what is happening on the South American continent.

Is there something you can tell us about the new tracks?, can we know the names or if they are original or adaptations of known argentinian, brazilian and chilean music

I don't know where you got this photograph of Minervinos being black, because all the photographs you find of him when you search on Google show him as a white man as illustrated by paradox, even Wikipedia shows him as a white man. I believe you are creating an unnecessary discussion here on the forum due to your misunderstanding.
The photographs you find of Machado de Assis also show him looking white. It is a known debate in Brazil and government sponsored school notebooks even feature art showing a half black half white Machado de Assis, referencing how ignorant the population itself is to Brazil's most iconic writer's skin color. In the face of modern research, I don't believe that Wikipedia should be a definitive and overly trusted source, and even then, by checking it after you mentioned it, it is clearly stated that he became a symbol of anti racist groups in Brazil, and in the references you can even see other articles talking more about his skin color... Either way, you might not have read it, but he just shouldn't be snow white as most other portraits.
As for my discussion being unnecessary, I wholly disagree as this is one of the forum's purposes, for us to express feedback in constructive way, and others before me have already mentioned this specific case in the last Dev Diary.

We need the GLIB DLC:

G for Germany: An extended Focus Tree for Germany with Communist Way, because Germany is the only country in Europe that cannot be made Communist with the Focus Tree. Also, the attack on Europe in fascism should be made more historic, if the game wants to be as accurate as possible. The AI is attacking the Benelux countries first, instead of Scandinavia, which is ahistorical.

L for Luxembourg: A focus tree for Luxembourg, please.

I for Ireland: A focus tree for Ireland, please.

B Belgium: A focus tree for Belgium, please.

Additional requests: The one can join more than one faction and that it is easier to negotiate territories.
This is a terrible idea. Luxembourg, which fought for about a day, and Ireland, which did not fight in the war at all, should be much lower priorities than countries like Burma, Egypt, Iraq, and Malaya, which were the centrepiece of campaigns that lasted for months if not years and helped to determine the outcome of the war as a whole.

Germany got content at release and has already has a DLC. It shouldn't get a third round of content while the entire South East Asian theatre has almost none at all.

Looks like Paraguay and Uruguay don't have unit models, how come they're not getting any despite getting a tree?

Also, will they even be getting art for advisors and leaders? I figured they'd get the warlord treatment but it doesn't seem like they're getting more than a focus.

If no, will we ever see an anniversary pack adding them in later on? The same for other Nations?
IIRC the devs said that they made the Paraguay and Uruguay trees in their personal dev time, so there was no budget at all for it. So the way to get more art is to ask these lovely 3D artists very nicely if they would like to devote their personal dev time to your cause.

Will other Latin American countries receive some love? (one or two new characters with portraits)

Could you show the portraits of the indigenous leaders of South America?
As for other countries, a few for PAR, URG and BOL, for example:

This just came out from the news press! Bolivia will receive several new portraits (some featured here) and Rapa Nui has this charming hat-wearing fellow. We can also show off a bunch of the leader councils here too, as well as as some operatives that will be added to the La Resistance DLC.

no peru love :'( ?

The portraits are very beautiful, I am especially moved by the portraits of the Incas, but Bolivia?
Wouldn't it have been a better idea to give some portraits of generals to Peru or Ecuador or Colombia? Peru and Ecuador are at war, they need some generals

The portraits shown are very beautiful

Everytime i see new WC achievements that have to be done as some tiny nation i just feel like that gif from green mile where he says "I'm tired boss"
Maybe i should consider stopping my plan of maintaining 100% achievements in HOI4.

Great work with the art, I lovet it, but I am somewhat disappointed with the achievements as I do not see that there is any achievement related to the military influence that Prussia had in Chile, I would have liked to see an achievement like the one Bulgaria has, something like Prussia of South America maybe.

Also I suggest you change the fascist flag of Chile for the Patria Vieja one since is the one they are more associated to and the version that you used is the one from the Vanguardia Popular Socialista that was created in 1939 after de MNSCh was restructurated. The exact number of stars are 64 representing the "heroes of chilean nazism" (59 of the deaths in the workers' insurance building and five of those who died in the streets in clashes), then it would be an anachrony use that flag in a period prior to the massacre of workers' insurance.

Sources: El Movimiento Nacional Socialista (1932-1938), 2000, Magdalena Moller Roth, Pontificia Universidad Católica (Facultad de Historia)

Maybe you can make the player choose either the Patria Vieja or the Red Flag with stars

Great Dev Diary, love the art!

How does the historical Argentina focus tree look now that the Peron focus was added?
If you look on the Steam page for the DLC, there is the full Argentinian focus tree with the Perón mini-tree beneath the "Balancing Act" focus of the Concordancia path:

If this is the bad ending, don't we need a good ending counter part?

If I can manage to find the time anywhere I will add the option to choose your flag for an upcoming patch :)

I want to clear this up a bit: the initial idea was work done by someone as a personal project (which we allot work time for), but after they were approved for inclusion they received considerable development time on the project budget.
