can we possibly see the new states which austria has and austria's resources? (with or without the focuses that add steel etc.)

Not sure if this does, but here's how the states look at startup. We have split off Burgenland and Stermark-Kärnten to give Austria a bit more room, without going too far overboard and supercharging Austria.

Hi, little question.
Do you edit/make new provinces, or only states? To be sure, because I do a little mod (fun fact, for Austria) for states, so I would want to know in advance.
Also, where do you take sources for by example, the population of 1936.
Thanks in advance, and have a nice day.
Hi! Only states have been changed as far as I know!

People dont spot details, They Just get the whole pictures. Sad but true. But more probably a bug, to make a new start date they would have changed the whole game (at least all the focus trees)
I have said it before, but not sure if it was on the forum, or in the discord, so; yes, the "Next Election: 1934" is a bug. Was solved today!

I really love what I've read.

I just want to say that I would love to see a state of Carinthia in Austria if you would be so kind.

And please consider the possibilities of the Republic of German-Austria 1918–1919 and a Hispano-Austrian Empire like that of Charles I/V of Spain and V of Germany.
Carinthia is the English name for Kärnten, so it is combined with Steirmark, but it does exist!

In a video about Austria, there is one more additional focus in ecomomic branch called "Seek Papal Support". Is this easter egg that has been leaked again? :D
View attachment 1199571
The video, like the screenshot for Steam, were made after the dev diary was written, which means that some things have happened/been added since then. So it is simply that this focus didn't exist when the diary was written, but was created before the video was recorded. :)

Considering the EU formable, you can see on the Austria-Tree screenshot in Steam, that it's down the "Danubian Federation" Focus, which can be accessed by both Democratic and Monarchist paths. How will the Democratic Powers react to Otto, or von Starhemberg, going down this route? Will they be more open and supportive, or do they see it as a threat to their democratic order?

Since you stated before that the ascension of a monarch to Austria will make them not support Austria in the struggle of the Anschluss, this would prove to be interesting.
Or can a monarchist-Austrian led EU be even turned into a HRE again?
Script wise, we do not make much difference between a monarchist led and a democratic led Danubian Federation. A monarchist Danubian Federation might have ways of actually federalizing via puppets and then have a boost to actually integrating those puppets, whereas Democratic will mainly stick with just a faction with a Joint Focus Tree. Either way, becoming EU can be done by both sides, but for monarchists this will mean no integration bonuses in the JFT. You can get a bigger faction this way however

However, Starhemberg will not be able to access this path, nor will he go for puppets, he just wants big Austria, like really big Austria actually... so big it miiiiight just be Holy ;) (Don't worry, there are ways down the Otto path for this too, it's just a bit more convoluted)

Hello, a wave from the France !
Please can we see austrian advisors ?
And I think it can be funny to have a piece of branch or an easter egg where Otto von Habsburg is a chancellor (because he was european deputy (after the world war two) and it can be a mean to have Otto von Habsburg like a leader without to anger the allies.
This is my first message into paradoxplaza and i would to say I really love Heart of Iron 4 !
Hello from a rainy Sweden! This is kind of what we intend for the Danubian Federation and subsequent EU branch to be, a nod to Otto's work in the EU. There are a lot of characters like this in Austria, where it feels like they might go either way depending on circumstances (or in some cases, just being very power hungry!) and it is fun to explore the what if's regarding these. As for EU-Otto or Danubian-Otto, the debuffs from having him over a democratic leader will be minor, what the Guarantors really opposed was a return to monarchy, not necessarily the Habsburgs (though many opposed them too... wonder why).

NICE!!!Can the monarchist Danube Federation, after integrating puppet states, only restore the borders of the old Austro-Hungarian Empire? I hope to have a familiar and beautiful border.
Who you can puppet, and later speed up integration for, depends on who you manage to get into the federation. Diplomacy is suddenly rather important :D, that said, the Danubian federation will allow you to invite all countries needed for a beautiful Austro-Hungarian border... and more!

Hi, can you please elaborate a bit more on how this works when Democratic?

Will you be able to unite the Federation into an actual country, similar to the Balkan Federation with Bulgaria, and then take it further and try to create the EU formable? If this is the case, how do you achieve it? If you manage to get the necessary countries like Germany and Italy in your faction then you can do decisions to eventually annex them and form the EU?
So, for Democratic, you can gain puppets, but integration will only be via the standard/vanilla system, there will be no bonuses towards it for a democratic country. The EU formable... well it might be that it has changed a little bit, but the big picture of it is rather much the same. You will be able to puppet only countries that are in the system, excluding Germany and Soviet, in the unlikely event that they are up for joining, ITA is not part of this system as the systems focuses on countries on the Danube, or countries that has had an interest in the Danubian area. So for forming the EU, you need to go about some countries in a different manner if you go for the "Protector of the Danube" focus... Going for "Via the Danube to Europe" that can be seen on the steam page, you might have a different experience with this.

Why not? Austria did in fact have armored cars by 1936, including some very interesting designs like this very heavy 8 wheeled armored car with an auto-cannon. It was produced until 1937 and even used by the army. Could fit very well as an interwar tank chassis with the wheeled suspension module. While only 27 were made pre-Anchluss (more were made by Germany), this is still more AFVs then some other hoi4 tags are afforded.

I think you guys should add it as a design (either a tank deign or as armored car) for Austria with some in their starting stockpile. Afterall, since these were already in production I don't think the treaty needs to be an issue here

Not to mention they did in fact have tanks, almost enough for a battalion. 36 CV-33 were delivered in 1935. these should also be in their stockpile. note that Bulgaria in the 1939 start date has a whopping 14 CV-33, so I don't think the relatively small number should be an issue. Both these and the armored cars can serve as a good base for Austria to counter German tanks. Could make for fun gameplay by converting these designs into tank destroyers.
We did look into this, and Austria does start with the ADGZ researched, but not produced, mainly due to the state of their industry at that point. The tankettes were Italian rather than Austrian, and as for the divisions, this has been discussed earlier in the thread but it has to do with manpower. Austria could not have more than 30000 men in the field, according to the Treaty, when we set the divisions to the historical ones, they were way over. As Austria can't feasibly keep the tank divisions equipped with their starting industry we cut them first as they would likely become cannon fodder real fast.

Wouldn't it also work to have a focus or decision to purchase italian tankettes and swedish LV-60s? Austria was trying out the swedish LV-60 light tank in 1937, but never got the opportunity to introduce them, due to the Anschluss
There is a focus to invite Ansaldo, which made the tankettes, as a mio in already :)

Wait, so if I get this right there won't be a Nazi path?
I do get that the Nazis would just join Germany (or become a puppet in the best case) so the gameplay would not be that interesting; but considering that the Nazis represent 50% in the political ideological compass, they were a major political factor in the 30s Austria and they are also kinda the historical path (Arthur Seyss-Inquart became chancellor after all, even if it was just for one day), not including a path to bring the Nazis to power seems to me like the focus is giving up on being historical in exchange for three highly unlikely alternate paths.
There is a fascist path under Schuschnigg which was deemed to be the most likely historical path.

The focus „Österreichische Fallschirmjäger“ has got an ‚s‘ that doesnt belong there.

Also, are there any focusses on retaking South Tyrol as this was probably a bigger pain in the but for the Austrians as not having to deal with pesky Magyars anymore?
Very well spotted! I'll fix this right now! :)

Quick question, Devs @Nattmaran :

Suppose Monarchist Germany rekindles Imperial Sentiment and causes the Austro-Hungarian Empire to form due to huge Monarchist support in Austria, Hungary, and Czechoslovakia. Will the Austro-Hungarian Tree also appear? Or is that limited only if Austria does it in either a Democratic or Monarchist path, without Monarchist Germany's interference? Thanks.
The Austro-Hungarian JFT, as far as I am aware, only appears on Austria's side if:
- Austria has completed the focus to puppet Hungary (it's the first in the puppet line)
- Austria has completed the focus to form the Danubian Federation
- Hungary has [REDACTED] and Austria is [ALSO REDACTED]
