Hello there!
Summer is nearing its end, and news about Update 5 will arrive next week if all goes according to plan. But that's not why I'm writing this Developer Diary alongside my Community Ambassador, Firefly. This Developer Diary isn't directly tied to the development of the game, but rather, it serves as a letter to our core audience as I felt it's the best way to address this.
I started working on Millennia in April 2023. I had heard of it internally as a smaller 4X game we were publishing, so as someone who loves 4X games, I threw my hat into the ring to work on it. Luckily, I was chosen as the Community Manager for Millennia, which was actually the first time I got to work on a brand new game. My previous experience was only with Hearts of Iron IV, which was already released in 2016.
In July, I hired Firefly, a freelance Community Ambassador, to help me run the Millennia Community. I'll leave what he has to say to himself below in a little bit.
It's now been over a year since I started working on Millennia, and it's been amazing to see such a small but passionate community care about the game. I know it didn’t live up to everyone's expectations, but with modding and multiplayer around the corner, I’m hopeful that you all will have a lot of fun with it!
During my time on Millennia, I had the opportunity to build a new community across our different social platforms, including Discord and the Forum. Interacting with all of you, and working with beta testers, wiki editors, and moderators has been a wonderful experience.
Now you might be wondering why I’m sitting here rambling. Well, the first DLC, "Ancient Worlds," will be the last thing I do on Millennia as I'll be leaving the game to focus fully on Hearts of Iron IV until the end of the year, after which I'll look towards another project.
It's been an honor being your Community Manager, and I hope you all have an amazing time playing Millennia in the future! Before I pass it on to Firefly, I also want to welcome Pelly as the new Community Manager. She is currently handling Victoria 3 and has been doing an amazing job there. I'm sure she will continue doing an excellent job here as well! Please welcome her with open arms, and she will take good care of the community while maintaining the transparency I've been pushing for.

Katten
Hello everyone! It’s Firefly here and like Katten I will also be leaving the Millennia Community Team. It’s been an amazing experience this last year to work alongside the developers of Millennia, C-prompt and my fellow Paradoxians.
I want to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to the community as a whole, some familiar names being around since the announcement last September and everyone else who’s joined since then. I’ve enjoyed talking to you, getting your feedback, teasing and revealing the advancement of Millennia post launch.
Finally a thank you to the Wiki team, Moderators and beta players. Thanks so much for all your help.
