Stellaris: Console Edition Development Diary #54 - "When News?"

Hello Console Edition Community!

We hope you’re all enjoying Overlord! Yesterday, we released a hotfix to address some of the bugs that have been reported since the Overlord/3.4 release. Thank you for your bug reports!

If you continue to experience bugs or other issues after starting a new save, you can report them here.

For those of you who missed the patch, here is the changelog:

  • Fixed crash when reordering planets in the Expansion Planner by number of districts.
  • Anomalies will now correctly display their name instead of “Anomaly”.
  • Special characters no longer show as squares when the game is in Japanese.
  • Fleets now show their ETA's when given a move order.
  • Entering string ID as ship prefix in empire creator no longer displays the contents of that string.

We’ve also happy to confirm that we’ve already been working on Expansion Pass Six for some time! You can expect us back in late summer or early fall with more Console Edition news about Expansion Pass Six.

We hope you enjoy Subjugating the galaxy, and we can’t wait to be back with more Console Edition news.

Thanks for playing Stellaris: Console Edition!

As it's now late summer / early fall can we look forward to some news?

Just hope that this isn't going to be news similar to that which I got from Frontier regarding Elite Dangerous on Xbox when they stopped support, which by coincidence would also seem to have been caused by feature parity.

Well, except that in the case of Elite Dangerous, the PC version of Elite Dangerous: Odyssey was so riddled with problems that I don't know they ever got them all fixed. Based on past updates, I expect Stellaris Console will get parity at some point...

I’m surprised they haven’t already moved to a stellaris remastered on the next gen consoles like they did for cities. If stellaris 2 isn’t looming on the horizon putting out a remaster could separate it from last gen and be easier for parity between next gen and pc. But that would probably mean buying the game again, possibly worth it but a pain.

Stellaris Console Edition has been riddled with problems since the 3.4 update. :( I wonder if/when they will all be fixed...

What's the good word folks, it's been half a year since we had an update?

As the company that worked on the console port has left, I'm concerned we're being left to wither on the vine here.
