Will it all be uploaded to YouTube right afterward? I try using Twitch when I can, but I always end up having to wait for YouTube because it sometines lags on our internet, I miss things, or what have you.

The Announcement Show will go out on YouTube immediately after it's done. Everything else will go up over time on our other YouTube channels

Guess I checked here at just the right time. Thanks!

Why is this labelled a Dev Diary?

There is no development to speak of here, it's just a rehased schedule!
"That's it? That's the lost Dev Diary?

That was just a bunch of cheap scheduling!"

So... any chance of a dev diary or just the marketing forecast?
Just a semi redacted screenshot with something new (not necessarily explained) would do.

I'd rather this dev diary went into the problematic launch by the new launcher, going into details why it was pushed out without any announcements, especially since it completely screw over people who plays with mods, and share what's on the agenda to be fixed.
Yes I know there's been mention of future features in the patch thread, but gathering it all together into a summary would only benefit us all.

Also, yes I'm still kinda mad at it.

The way I see it, Paradox is not obligated to post dev dairies or detail to the public their inner workings and plans, but they do it because that engages customers with their games more. Thus, I won't complain whichever way they see fit to publicize their products. Even though learning the inner workings is my favorite thing to do with games, the process being more exciting to me than the result.

Some of the recent announcements regarding Stellaris have me feeling uncomfortable for the future of the game. To me it's like the game is becoming more and more restrictive with how you play, with you being expected to play certain species in specific ways or face excessive penalties. I hope the announcement bring more game and less role-playing.

I'm ok with roleplaying so long as it's formative over a campaign and not largely pre selected from the beginning.

I think this next dlc and the upcoming updates will be the deciding factor about how the quality of the game will progress in the future. We all know that Megacorp and 2.2 has a huge desaster. There are still big issues with the game which is why we got a new huge megathread so I won't talk about it here.

Personally, I did like what was added with the Relics dlc but overall I do not enjoy the game anymore after 2.3. That is because in my opinion the devs have shown a huge bias towards certain empire types and ignored months of suggestions for long-ignored empires like Hiveminds. Not everything has to be perfectly balanced. But seeing how the empires are so vastly different in strength is unacceptable. While Machine empires are drowning in energy credits, Hivemind players are busy juggling ther pop jobs around just to get by.

Machines were in a terrible spot at the start of 2.2 and got fixed in the following patches, which is exactly what we needed for Spiritualists and Hiveminds but we never got it.

After 2.2.6, Synth Ascencion has been the best ascencion by far. The whole game is about pop growth now and Synths have by far the best. I would much prefer if the strength of each ascencion type, be it Organic, Synth or Spiritualists be not about how good its pop growth is, but about how each type specializes in producing ressources. Sadly the 2.2 job system also took away our control over pops. Its not as fun to gene mod your perfect species if the pops decide to work in different jobs. This can be solved with mods. But again, the biggest issues: AI, Pop job controls and the dreaded resettlement which absolutely kills any enjoyment in the lategame has to get solved with mods. I expect this to change.

To me, Hiveminds and Spiritualists aswell as Biological Ascencion feels neglected. Overall, everything non-Robot is neglected and as insult to injury Machines/Robot empires benefit too much from relics. I hope the next DLC will bring a lot of nice customization for empires with the new Origin system and I very much look forward to it. But if Paradox doesn't stop their bias toward certain empire types and still doesn't give Spiritualists and Hiveminds a proper overhaul so they are atleast competitive to Robots/Synth empires, then I don't see myself ever playing those empires again. I am not yet ready to accept that Stellaris offers not much variety in terms of playstyles. Even though this is currently the case - just because Paradox has decided to neglect anything non-Robot.

If the game is supposed to offer a variety of choices in empires then playstyles, then why did you decide to make Machines/Synths vastly more powerful than others? You still haven't fixed the bug with pop Ethic attraction which is supposed to be a strength of Spiritualists: Converting pops to the Spiritualist Ethic and getting bonuses from it while annoying other empires.

Looking forward to seeing if the AI are going to get fixed in then ear future or not. Honestly can't stand sitting around waiting to see if ill be playing again or not paying for my first ever DLC (Origins).

One can only hope.

With all due respect, PDXcon announcement could do just as fine as a standalone post, Dev Diary is supposed to be about well, development of the game. If you had no topics to talk about at this time, you could've just canceled the Diary, as it was done on a few occasions before.

Um. Guys. The next DLC is already in a playable state. You're all busy being butthurt that the DLCs haven't restarted that you missed this line, right here.

Playable state is questionable. Alpha State is a more likely situation with the new content presented. And there is no telling how far along all that is from current Alpha state to potential Beta and eventual release. I also think a number of "butthurt people" are irked about the Stellaris mobile game that had stolen artwork, microtransactions, and appeared to be a poorly re-branded version of the existing mobile game, Nova Empire. The fact that we have not had much news about the next expansion for Stellaris likely also left a bad taste in peoples' mouths.

It is similar to the backlash that Blizzard fans had at last year's BlizzCon when they were presented with a Diablo mobile game and no plans to create Diablo 4 that fans have been begging Blizzard for.

That's assuming it's actually the DLC. I would guess that it's more likely to be the mobile game, honestly.

My post was before the mobile fiasco. I've been VERY vocal since the mobile announcement that I honestly think the CEO should be ousted.

Paradox Studios over the last 18 months has been an embarassment going from one failure to the next, each one bigger than the last. I'm quite literally expecting PDXCon to be a dumpster fire with all of the guests getting food poisoning.

New titles ? Victoria 3 ?

Victoria 3 is a mobile game!
