Warmest greetings from Minamar Specialized Industries!

We delight in meeting new peoples and welcoming them into the greater galactic community. With over 143 successful uplifts to date, we’re the acknowledged leaders in the field of social and technological ascendancy. We’re thrilled to finally make your acquaintance, and hope to add your world to our success story.

We understand that this is all very sudden. Receiving a transmission ‘from the stars’ has likely come as a surprise to you, but we’ve been watching your world for some time and your civilization scores very highly on several relevant metrics. With an evaluation score of ?ERROR_UNDEFINED, the people of ?ERROR_HOMEWORLDNAMENOTFOUND have been flagged as particularly worthy of cooperative enlightenment. Congratulations!

We have assigned some of our best specialists to your case, and our representatives will be arriving on world shortly. We can’t wait to meet in person to discuss the benefits of ascendency as well as the terms of this beautiful arrangement.

Enlightenment may not be free. But at MSI, it’s always worth the cost.

This has me hoping that we'll be able to guide primitives to government types we want them to have. It's always good to have a tiny megacorp subject under your grasping digit to dote on.

I hope that when you try to enlighten a civilization, you can simply stop, and their planet will hold at some developmental age, instead of remaining in their original age, and it being all or nothing (and events when they pass into each era! Like festivals, conflicts, new socieities forming, etc). I want to uplift each civlization to the industrial age, and gradually infiltrate them to be a part of my empire. Right now, I've never had that option because finding an industrial civilization is rare, and the civilizations I do find aren't advanced enough. So just another roleplay option.

DO NOT TRUST THEM

THIS IS A TRAP
It is indeed a trap.

A trap of UNTOLD RICHES AND PROSPERITY!

Anyways this sounds fun. If this is a primitives pack, I wonder if it will come with a special Fallen Empire that pretends to be a primitive empire like the Organians from Star Trek? That'll be a interesting development for star empires that decide to pick on the weak.

My sense of new fallen empire are tingling. Can't wait to do business with a company that make Weyland-Yutani look like a a brand new start up.

This is definetely something I'd like to see. I hate that when I find a pre-industrial primitives I have to either fully enlighten them, getting a protectorate that i can only integrate later on, or invade them. Having the middle ground option that is covert infiltration expanded would be really nice.

Whilst all additions to Stellaris are appreciated, this makes me think that the long desired internal politics rework is probably not happening this time around. Such a change would be the biggest aspect of a given DLC, and emphasising the primitive interactions rework first means internal politics may yet again be on the backburner.

Which does sadden me, as internal politics is in my opinion the area of the game both most in need of an overhaul and the area of the game that is the most promising in terms of new mechanics.
Yes, internal politics would make mid game much better.

Improving on primitives?

Oh please, can I make primitives worship my Director-General or even my entire species as gods... for purely scientific purposes, of course. I promise :D

Now we need a reverse x -com scenario where we send troops and primitive ships just to mess with them for society research and some fluff. And after we "loose" the war, we send one real corvette and bomb them down. cause... fun

*edit*
also.. we could experiment with releasing xenomorphs. To breed stronger ones. or at least better fed ones.
