Towards Utopia - Alternative working title; Space, the Final Frontier.

Finally, I'll leave you with a cryptic little note: There's something special that's been added to the audio for Banks by none other than our Audio Director, Björn Iversen, himself. Keep your eyes peeled for it in the patch notes...

What's that @Wiz? You've added CKII death sounds to Stellaris? Dawwww, shucks, you guys know us so well. :D

You came to Budapest and didn't let local loyalists know, so we could buy you a beer or whatever you choose? I would say unrest increased, but I don't feel like purging myself. :D

I will actually be back in Budapest very soon for another project. :)

Mercedes Romero? Sounds Blorg.
She sure is Blorg. She was very prominent in the stream before initial release of Stellaris. But unfortunately died just before Stellaris was released if I remember correctly. ;(

The song is called “In Memory of M.R” and it was recorded in one take, 5 minutes before we had to pack up and end the recording session. The musicians had never seen the music sheets before and this is what happened.

Too soon, Paradox ... but an appropriately lovely piece. Great job Andreas!

Amazing new songs. Amazing as always, Andreas.

Out of curiosity, which orchestra performed the original Stellaris soundtrack? Was this the first time Paradox worked together with the Budapest Film Orchestra? I was also wondering if Paradox has a go-to orchestra they usually utilize to record their soundtracks or if it just varies from game to game.

The original Stellaris main theme was performed by Brandenburg State Orchestra. It varies which ones we use, I havent worked with the Budapest orchestra before but it was a pleasent experience for sure.

I find it both touching and hilarious to watch an orchestra perform a musical tribute to the intrepid Blorg explorer Mercedes Romero. Well done!

The Blorg story is actually pretty touching, if you look past the hilarity and occasional horror. Mercedes lived just long enough to see the completion of her peoples' ultimate quest: to find the people who gave them reason to hope. And then she died knowing that she'd served her people well.

Is there any chance of a suite of Stellaris-ized covers of other Paradox games' music? I really like the callbacks to old Europa Universalis music in some Stellaris tracks (i.e. "To the Ends of the Galaxy" is one), and often I wish the rest of the song would just continue as in EU, but all synthed-up and spacified.

And hell, I want to know what falalalan sounds like in space.

That music player looks like a great tool! Will it be able to mod more soundtrack pieces into the game and manage them with the player?
