Perhaps the tooltip for primitives could list them with the age they are in?

Previously, having the Details Mapmode off would show you almost no information, while having it toggled on would show you almost no information.
You don't need to be so harsh on yourselves, there is some information shown if you turn it on ;).

Awesome, i was reading this and just thinking "please just say you're going to release it today, just do it you know you want to". thanks Wiz it looks great, one question though, will we be able to choose colours of ships separate from flag colour?

Can the details mapmode be adjusted?

I'd like to see any system with more than say 8 of any particular resource, or toggle on/off special resources (which are often a really important decision to make when attacking).

Or, in a huge stretch, the icon? Like it goes Stone Axe -> Sword -> Halberd -> Musket -> Rifle -> Atomic Radiation Symbol?

Regardless, just a nitpick of what's looking to be a great upgrade.

No, ship coloring will always match flag color.

Can we please get a way to change other empires colours and/or emblems.

Great, no details. HOW do we do the ship textures!? Is it the red channel on the specular? Do we need something new on the diffuse? Normals? What determines what colors can tint?

Aside from not being able to actually update any of my ship textures till after Banks it seems......

All great additions.

@Wiz Now that you mentioned color upgrades for empires in the galaxy map, may I suggest an upgrade to that for a future patch?
It would be useful IMHO if we could tell at a glance which borders are closed to us, especially if we use hyperlanes.
This could be done by coloring the outline of the empires with closed borders.
Just my 2 energy credits.

I'm pretty sure lanes you can't use are already red.

I'm excited about the map colours change alone. That's going to make things much more enjoyable for me.

Details map improvements are really nice. Ultimately you might want to consider just a big bunch of toggles for all these show/hide options as not everybody agrees on "only what is important". Might be a good alternative to the bazillion map modes in EU4 as well. :)

However, the real treat: No longer hunting down primitives in the diplomacy overview, click on go to, zoom and figure out if they are exploitable (in your system) or not. :D

Primitive Galaxy Map Icons
Another interface addition in Banks is the ability to see Primitive Civilizations on the galaxy map. Any system containing a Primitive Civilization you have discovered, either through surveying or acquiring star charts, will show up as a special icon in the galaxy map informing you of their presence in that particular system. If an Observation Post is constructed above that Primitive Civilization's planet, the icon will change to reflect this.

The icons are a great idea! But why do we need to survey first to get the icons?
Right now you can identify primitives already without needing to survey after you visited the system with any ship (Intel Level: Medium).
In the system view their planets will show a unique name and a habitable planet icon (which however doesn't show up in the galaxy view unlike habitable but uninhabited planets). It is a chore to go through every single system to look for primitives that way but it's worth it to identify early expansion targets for slavery empires faster.

So I suggest you either fix the "detecting primitives without survey" mechanic/exploit or display the icon on the galaxy map right away (just like you do with the icons for uninhabited planets) without needing a survey.
