2 villages?

The discussion about not using his brutal was a couple of days ago though, when the odds were worse.

I have played two games of WWL, both times as villager, and this is my first game in WW full.

Still a villager, but I had the brutal trait, and I WAS GOING TO US IT! (go ahead, put my finger on the missiles button.)

I do think The Arch Mede should have an award for his interesting additions to the local newspapers. I did enjoy reading them, especially after he found my secret, nevermore.

Okay, I've settled on a less ambitious but interesting game concept for a game. I'll have it up in 8 hours or so when I have things organized.

@ jerard
At least you did get a couple of other baddies to the gallows with that.

Nice work, village.

As I said, it was hard for me to continue and to get asfar as I did after my packmates were killed. The only gripe I have is the cultist rule which lead to the death of ours. There was also the weird pack setup where most of the good stuff was in the other pack.

Well, at least its good to know the lone wolf was taken down by the village working behind the scenes, not as just a set of guesses but with a lack of room to manouvre and pretty much having everyone else on between my logoff and the deadline it was hard for me to extricate myself.

But how could Teep the Yakwolf spy know that if jonlucero was an Indian cultist? It seems a too detailed thing for a spy scan to reveal (which was why I changed my vote from trespoe to Teep yesterday)
I guessed. Nearly all my hunts were guesses, trying to do as much damage as I could.

You crovaxed by putting the space in yourself in a PM to me in an earlier game. Once I had a way to use the Ravens, Poe was always going to come in. For readers of the TuesdayMorningQuarterback column, that connection is inescapable. It was your crovax that got you linked in to it though. I only just had enough time to put that post together that day or the poe(m) should have been a lot longer. I had half a dozen other lines that were not quite right, but the Turkey was coming to the table so I had to cut them and post what I had.

The best award is no award. (Flattery is fine though). I am quite serious about the Day 0 awards giving you nothing but a target on your back. The wolves went after walrus because he had a bonus and wasn't one of them. AVN was probably scanned early and hence outed as a wolf for the same reason.

You should also give credit to Euro. It is a lot easier for players to RP when the GM creates a sufficiently rich theme for the players to RP around. The theme/RP part of the game was GMed very well.

BUT

@joeb Are you going to say what you think about the rules part of the GMing? I think the complaint you made during the game about the GM killing you was entirely justified. The whole thing about being in a pack but not being in the pack smacks of the Ciryander style of GMing and I think you were right to say that it killed you.

You don't HAVE TO add something untried an comletely insane thing to a game, there is always a possibility to create a more or less old fashioned game with the traditional roles and traits...

@Kriszo: I thought you asked somewhere why you got hunted. It was because I got a spy report saying: Kriszo has a certain quality about him that makes him special. He's not the best, but he sure is close. Of course we had to hunt you then :p

Oh, thanks for clarifying. I thought I was simply a victim of a random choice.

How do you decide first nights hunts anyway?
I always have a problem with that as a wolf.

Usually I just use a random number generator. Though it depends. Sometimes randomization leaves you with people you don't want to hunt or that will serve your needs better if kept alive. An example of someone I don't want to hunt first night is a player who was killed early in the last couple of games, though I don't always check this. A person you might want to keep alive is someone who can draw attention away from your pack, like the first day vote winners (because the wolves are expected to hunt them and keeping them alive leads to speculation, they are also more likely to be protected). Others to avoid are people who have been getting lot's of attention in recent games, OrangeYoshi springs to mind. I actually used the phrase 'vote magnet' when OrangeYoshi's name came up when discussing the hunts. :p Also if someone has started of some great RP-ing, I will usually not hunt that person the first night.

All the above is of course not set in stone and I will sometimes deviate from it if I feel like it :D and of course since there are more people in the pack anyone can make a suggestion and usually the first suggestion is accepted.

Thanks for this, it is always good to learn some strategies, I am not one who has very good ideas :eek:o

I hunt people I don't like, or who have had a public feud with some other player.

No problem, I also think it's one of the most difficult things to decide, hence the random number generator.

So if I get hunted, jonti is no wolf ;)

Or the other way around ofcourse: If I don't get hunted, jonti is a wolf. Hm... That was correct this game :)

I'm a sissy and don't like to eat people so I usually let my packmates decide. :eek:o

But if I have to pick someone myself I try to avoid people that are likely to be protected (usually high profile people, someone that pissed of a lot of people last game etc). I also don't like to hunt someone that got killed early last game, someone coming back from retirement, someone in their first game, someone with a good RPing going etc.

The problem is I know others think alike - Slinky seems to have a similar set of guidelines - and that makes the job easier for the protectors (if they too think like this). It's a good thing there are also people dedicated to the jonti school of thought. ;)

@EUROO7
Thanks for GM-ing. I enjoyed playing in this game :)
But I have a few comments.

1) I don't like the price voting on the 1st day. The winner gets a lot of unwanted attention. And the price was too big. After the 2nd night we knew the name of the seer, priest and sorcerer. That's way too much information at that moment (even if that was mostly a consequence of winning the price vote). And I wonder what my price would have been if I had saved it ? (please give an answer on this).

2) The thief role is overpowered.

3) The spy trait is nice, but added to the scanners there is IMO too much information available early in the game. The result is that there are many bandwagon votes and voting analysis becomes unimportant. And that's a pity :(

But, to I like to emphasize, I enjoyed playing in this game :)
