I started the 1936 scenario as USA and the required consumer goods to keep dissent from going up is really high . How do I take care of that?
IIRC that is just the way it is for Democratic Nations especially the large USA.So i think its normal?

Communist & Fascist nations require less consumer goods to be happy.

Some techs you can research in certain versions/mods may make you more economical with your resources ,you can raise IC or infrastructure and less consumer goods are needed i think when at war.

Well If you pull up USA ,1936, on HOI regular the consumer goods takes up over 3/4 of ic, it doesnt seem to be that bad as other democratic nations.
Well USA even then had a larger population of demanding consumers to keep happy.Maybe its that way to represent that ,but i can not say for definite?Anyone else?

Why is your dissent going up?

Hover the cursor over the dissent value at the top of the screen and it should display the daily change in dissent (e.g. - 0.02). If your value is positive (= dissent is raising) then change your production sliders to move more industry to producing consumer goods until the value in the consumer goods produced display is no longer red but white.

That the requirements in Consumer goods are high is WAD because:
1) Democracys in the game generally need more consumer goods than fascists who need more than communists.
2) Starting 1936 the "warentry" value for the USA is at it´s lowest value. It will raise by various events and regardless of events by +1 for every month that passes. So watch the consumer goods needs. They should for the USA become lower a bit every month and you can adjust your production sliders.
3) Being at peace means that the people are much more demanding than when at war. As soon as the USA enter WW2 the need for consumer goods will drop a huge amount and frees your industry for other tasks.
