i just played until 1948 with build 2 so ima give my feedback.

1944: local counter attacks and strongpoints allowed me to survive in lithuania in the north (dvinia river was my northern border), historical polish borders in the middle, and i retook romania in the south.

1945: the rest of the russian army shows up but they dont do much. some medium sized battles in the north but i just fall back to konigsburg and they do nothing. in the middle they take 1 province. romania stays quiet.

1946: during 1945 i accumulated a ton of manpower and built 54 1947 infantry divisions (my tech was about 1 model ahead of the russians. but many russian units never got to upgrade because there were so many). i encircled 60 divisions in romania and retook kiev and the lower dneiper (my border was that little tributary in the middle). 700k manpower was lost (i had 800 to reinforce with and 1.55 gain per day).

1947: i launch an armored attack and encircle all of belarus, killing 150 divisions. im right outside of moscow, i hold lenningrad, and kursk and its early july. FOR NO FUCKING REASON, USA DECLARES WAR. with no troops in the west they kill all my IC and i can only spare 50 divisions which would be enough to hold them in lorraine-alsc but not enough to retake western germany. long story short: my TC collapses and i quit because the russians start counter attacking and i cant do shit.

there was no warning of the dow. i had every reason to believe i was safe. so you should look into that.

so:

-more aggressive russian ai

-something to keep allies from declaring war

-move the german army in italy to berlin (along with 1 corps that still in serbia).

4/5

Thanks for these two test runs and one word, WOW! My eastern went under due to the low IC and not being abled to reinforce at the same pace that they launched their attacks, but know I know it's possible... With some support from the allies (oil, rare, supplies...), perhaps even German AI manage to atleast slow down the russian advance and the Germany player may have a change to actually stop the russians all in all.

To your remarks:

1. I'll start checking AI a little, but first I'm no AI guru and secondly, I always aimed this mod for AOD which have made improvment (they say so at least :D) to the AI, so I hope it will be a better and stronger AI once it's released and this mod is converted to it.

2. Yes... It's a combination by AI preferences and the bad relations... I'll try and check the beast way to handle it, making a peace treaty or to revise the AI.

3. Hmm.. Though I got rid of those German divisions in Italy! I'll check into that!

And thanks, Panzerman!

yeah but the ai can cancel it (ive had that happen in other mods before).

the key is not to simply pull back to poland. the pripet marshes are your friend here. pull army group center right above them (should be about 40 divisions) and any soviet unit that gets near them u attack but dont occupy. same deal in the north. but dont get encircled. by doing this u can inflict terrible casulaties on the russians and keep them from bring their entire force to bear for about 2-3 months. by then the ai wont attack cuz its winter. reinforcements should be sent to the south. if u can id try to get pinsk and lvov but its hard to hold. retake romania. mil control allies. send all ur armor outta romania and put it in galacia, maybe a few with ur northern armies. take all ur slow moving brigades (arty, aa) and put them all in 1 army so u have an extra strong army that is slower instead of all ur armies slow.

2 things:

ive won the 1944 scenario (well, defeated russia and lost paitence) 5 times.

i play on normal/normal.

Germany is getting beaten on all front and therefore the chances of winning a three front war is very slim.
And thats why the allies would never have agreed on a seperate peace or anything other than unconditional surrender. The aim was to crush germany not hitler. when germany is with her back against the wall the allies in no way would stop the war so that germany can recover. assasination of hitler makes no difference. this complete scenario here is absurd.

The problem is that the allies would never accept peace with the Reich. Roosevelt wouldn't betray Stalin like this, and the American people wouldn't be willing to see the Germans as 'Good Guys' for quite a while.

exactly

1. Since this didn't happen, you can't say it wouldn't happen. Only that it will be more or less likely that it would happen, and I do agree, I don't think that it would happen, but that doesn't mean that there wasn't a theoretical possibility that it actually would have been so.

2. Because there's a possibilty, or not even that, but because I who've done this mod, came up with and did the idea as a hoi2 mod, it's fine for me and I would have been happy to revise/change/add/remove things within the framework of my/this idea based of feedback and other types of input, but if you just come here to say that the "complete scenario is totally absurd" and have no intention to play or participate. Don't. Just go.

who you please release the next version soon?

Don't know. Right now, I'm busy with the Yugoslavian wars as well as my regular job + w have snow- and trafic chaos so I must work extra and remove the snow with my truck and tomorrow AOD will be released.. We'll see, a bit much right now though. ;)

played another game. fighting retreat in estonia. held them until september. reserves from west come up. they gain little ground. they had superiority but every time they attacked they were counter attacked and lead elements were encircled. so ive chipped them down to 400 divisions by early 1946 and im ready to make my big move. finland is holding cuz i built 6 inf with rocket arty and sent an air expeditionary force. they got shot up tho by a huge stack. nonetheless i have air supremecy

Ideas about war in China

Nat. China and Com. China(or even US and SU) can fund anti war activities in Japan or Korea, this will not cause visible dissent but will increase the chance of revolt in the funded region
revolts in Korea may result in the creation of a new nation(and by funding you may have yourself an ally) while revolt in Japan will cause resource/IC destruction

If Japan's still stucked in the China battlefield by '47 or '48 then there will be revolt in Japan, there can be some hint events for the player who's playing Japan(citizen ask to end the war, starvation in xx(mp decrease), rumor of rebel)
And if every sign of revolt is negleted it will begin in Akita, Kanazawa and Fukuoka(or other less important places) with smaller forces, if that failed they will come back months later with a much larger force and pop up in Tokyo
The rebel will have a name like "Shin Nihhon/New Japan" and is communist, after they got a foothold they are going to takeover Japan(make it happen!)

The loyal troops escorts the Emperor to Seoul, Japan seek peace with China

What's the Allies' next step with Japan? Will Com. China ally with New Japan and form a Commuism union? Will these events move the world?

-------------
And that's somewhat off-trck
-------------
I've got some idea of the German event chain... but I think this would cost time writing them

event no.1: Are you going to make a peace deal

a)yes
b)no →war still on

no.2: liberate France and Benelux?
a)yes
b)no →back to war

no.3 liberate Yugoslavia?
a)yes →leads to no.6
b)no

no.4 liberate Poland?
a)yes →leads to no.7
b)no

no.5 the libreation of Western Europe
a) border before war (liberate all) 60
b) liberate all but Alsace&Lorriane 40
c) border like the picture in 1st post (some occupied) 20

no.6 the libreation of Yugoslavia
a) liberate all and form a single state 20
b) liberate all and create divided countries 20
c) let Italy keep the coast and other parts form a single state 15
d) let Italy keep the coast and create divided countries in the rest 15
*Italy will got event if a/b is chosen, they have to agree else they'll have to fight on their own

no.7 the libreation of Poland
a) liberate all but Danzig&Pomerania (for troops to pass) 10
b) liberate the general government Poland 5

if there's no something like a counter in the game, then forget the numbers

the number indicates how the allies think about the deal, they will accept if the counter reaches 50,
if it's 80(lv.1 support) or 90(lv.2 support) then allies will back you with more resource or tech or else in the war versus SU

If you need any play testers, I'm game. The only reason I don't play as Germany is because of the fact that Adolf is in charge and I have no stomach for the SS or Nazis.

But, as this is all about a Military with Goerdeler as Chancellor, I will gladly play as this Germany.
