Nicely done jonti! You go out in style well :)

Hmn. Now who to vote. Let's see. The claimant seer whom if he was a wolf could have won just now by means of a quick vote snipe, or the claimant seer's claimed wolf scan ..

edit: Interesting choice of hunt, by the way..

Nice update jacob.:D

Might we want to consider simply moving the end forward?

If there's a lesson to be learned from this game it's this: you stick to the facts when someone gets outed!! If someone claims they're a seer/J-L, doubting them is simply not an option unless you hear from someone else claiming to be the seer/ in the J-L (and the word of the person the original claimant said was a wolf counts for absolutely nothing unless someone else backs them up.) It's really that simple, there are no exceptions to this.

I look forward to using a packmate to do a fake outing and making you all look like idiots.

I so want to argue against that, but the game is still going on, I can't as I need to point to certain things that where in PM so unless people say for certain is it over, it will have to wait. After all, I am dead.

But what if, simply for the sake of argument, this happened:

I PM someone - someone not too experienced most likely - to tell them that I have scanned EUROO7 as a werewolf and that he must be outed. I could either PM a few newbs at the beginning of each day with a "Hi, welcome to the JL" message, or tell them that there is nobody else in the JL (coming up with a "scan list" to "prove" my point) and ask them to do it. I make sure that they either give my name to my packmates or impress on them that they shouldn't tell anyone who I am because it's an obvious wolf trick.
I then put in a kill order for said newb. The deed is done, and of course a day of analysis is wasted.

Generally speaking I hate fake outings, but they do exist, and are a legitimate wolf tactic. Wolves are evil, it's their raison d'être

I suspect it would work on non-newbs too, to be honest. If it was done convincingly enough. What surprises me most is that it isn't done more often ..

I still promote the idea that JL outings should ALWAYS be considered genuine, until proven that the outed wolf is not a wolf.

You might all come up with as many ideas and methods for fake seer outings, but bare for certain circumstances, they almost always are a great risk for the wolves. (the most dangerous circumstance is the last day before parity. Seer outings on that day are an exception to what I said above).

Indeed - but you would have to be a hell of a lot more careful with experienced players.

I have found a new mission: to destroy the faith the Lite village places in the JL. The game is much more fun when nobody believes anything.

Who is with me?

Well, we could take it to the general thread I suppose.

I'm not sure what you mean about PMing multiple people. If you do that, you trickery will get exposed, and the best you could pull off is that you're a villager who tried to pull a stunt.

Like I said, it can be done, but look at what happened in this game for example. Assuming an active seer, random scans etc, the odds of a wolf hitting someone who's already part of the JL some way, if they make first contact day 3 as I did, should be a bit more likely than 1/3 not gonna do the math right now just a guesstimate. Then you can add onto that the chances that the real J-L has hit a wolf, which makes it even worse for the fake seer. And that the real seer would've gotten in touch with someone earlier than the fake one, which makes them more credible. As you get later in the game the chances of it working get worse and it becomes almost suicide for the wolf to try. I would really doubt if it made any sense to try it after day 3 at all.

It might be a gamble worth a shot at it, from a team player wolf who doesn't mind the fact that his chances of survival become very slim, on day 2 or even day 3. Maybe. But even still I'm not at all convinced that the villager who gets contacted not playing along by doing things like giving the seer name to a random person etc. is a good idea at all.

You did a good enough job by yourself in this game. But honestly, trying to not talk about the game, I saw it more likely with the first pm from the seer that she was a wolf, and wanted me to 'out' a human, and then the wolfs would leave me a alive and the next day get me lynched. After all, I outed a 'wolf' that turned into a human and survived the night? What human could do that? After all, a J-L of nothing but a scanned wolf and dead humans, with a seer...

Granted it turned out I was over thinking it too much, but this is a forum with skilled players, so I expected that to happen to me at least once. Surprisingly it has not yet...

You do a few newbs with a "Welcome to the JL" PM. Have a few "JL" members and out and eat them. Better still, get a pawn to do it for you.

I thought you meant sending it off to several people at once.

Nein, that would cause massive phail.

Why does Rooney not like the football? Has it wronged him in someway? :(

Because he is made of complete and total phail.
[Geoff Boycott] This is rubbish, my mother could play better than that[/Geoff Boycott]

I'm so totally clueless about this whole thread.
