Hi everone,

We have just announced a map making contest for Majesty 2!

Make a scenario and you can win prizes and your scenario will end up in the Majesty 2 in game store.


How to enter the competition: Simply make a scenario with the map editor included in the latest patch.

When does the competition end? You have until the Wednesday the 23rd of June 2010!

How to win: Simple! Make sure your scenario is really good and fun to play!

How do I submit my map?


1: Zip your map files into a single archive. Name the mapp and add: "_yourforumusername".
2: Upload the file to the Paradox FTP.
Adress: ftp.paradoxplaza.com
Name: majesty2maps
Passw: maj76RRp

Prizes: The winner gets 3 Paradox games of their choice, 100 000 Blue Coins to use at Gamersgate and your map will be available for download via the Majesty in game store. 2 runner ups will win special prizes for their efforts.

I hope you mean for free? Don't think people will accept you profiting from their creations

Um, from what I've read, isn't that version incredibly unstable(Don't know about Kingmaker one, any different?)?
And what about all the people that you haven't bothered to release a localized patch for? Is Steam's even out yet?
They all just suffer and miss out?

As for the map editor. It is stable as long as you don't attempt to do stuff that it doesn't allow or support. In some cases those action prompts the program to close down. So yeah, it's a bit tricky to work with, but it has a deep set of features. Just save often

I would still like to see some sort of walkthrough on how to make a map. I would love to make one and enter the contest but I can't figure out how. I already posted that in the map editor question thread.

In any case... hopefully we will get a number of good maps out of the contest.

Yeah, there should be more map makers, maybe i´ll try myself but im too lazy so i don´t know... the concepts put in the 2 maps by hapuga are interesting. But what i would like to see more is more fighting against full kingdoms, not just some safehouses. Something in the line of the last mission of The Nortern Expansion of Majesty.

Hi guys,

We haven't forgotten about you or the contest! In fact we've been looking into what more we can do.

The problem, as some of you might know, is that a large portion of the community haven't had access to the editor because of the steam-patching delays. Therefore it hasn't felt exactly fair to them to run the competition without them.

So we've decided to extend the deadline until they've had a chance to participate.

So what does this mean? So firstly we've gotto get the patch working on Steam. I promise you we're working as hard as possible on this, but there are a bunch of exciting obstacles slowing us down. But the patch is coming!

So in the meanwhile you guys can keep making maps.

Tomorrow we'll open up the submission and let you guys start sending us maps.

We'll also talked with our busy friends in the east in the hopes that they'll start answering your editor questions. We at Paradox are no experts at the editor so our answers wouldn't exactly help.

As a compensation for the extension we're going to juice up the prizes a bit.
