I am playing as Duke of muster and wnat to claim dublin, I have the prestige but when I ask for full mobilization, all three of my counts say no, including my son! they are all 92% and above loyal, so what is the problem? I cant win by myself, I need them.

Thanks for the help.

Raise their regiments directly (click on their province and then click on the soldier to mobilize the regiment)

Ahh... didn't know you could do that. then why ever go grand mobilization?

Also, the ducky next to me has a thieves guild in it, and the duke is 21, but the next in line is a newborn, if I assassinate him, would that cause problems in the country? He is a good leader, but I am trying to get a feel for when assassination is a good ploy.

I personally use assassination only to make my main character or his primary heir first in line to inherit my target's throne. In most other cases I think the risks outweighs the rewards too much.

Did you mobilize before or after you declared war? In my experience, vassals are a lot more likely to mobilize their troops for you when you are at war.

How would i get my heri next in line for someone else's throne? Marriage is suppose? Have my sone marry his oldest daughter? How else?

I might not have been at war, but wanted to prep my forces first. Maybe ill try to declare first, then see what happens.

Vassals will not raise troops unless you are at war :)

Also they take a loyalty hit if you raise them directly from their province screen, though you can raise a vassal's vassal's troops that way without affecting you (since he is not your direct vassal).

I think they are also more likely to raise their troops if you have at least 50% of your troops mobilized when you ask them (during grand mobilization all your troops are mobilized, so that counts as 100%).

To get an heir to a throne in anothe realm, you need to find one that has semi-salic inheritance law (inheritance through the female line). Then marry one of your sons to the eldest daughter (preferably your eldest son, so his oldest son will inherit), and then make sure her father doesn't sire any sons. If he does, you need to make sure they never live to maturity.

Your son will not inherit anything in that realm, but his and the oldest daughter's son will. And if your son is the heir to your throne, then eventually the grand son could inherit both yours and the other realm.

Wow tempest, that was a really cool description, and one of the reasons I am really digging this game. Now how do you tell what dukes and counts and such have as inheritance laws? I can see mine, but how do I see others?

Also, is there any reason to change mine, any that are better than others??

You can see other peoples laws by going to the 'laws' screen, and clicking a law as if you were going to change your law to that one. All counties', duchies', kingdoms', etc's, demenes will light up if they have that law.

Just as semi-salic inheritance law is good to steal,, err, acquire other realms to merge with yours, that law is also bad for you. If your eldest (and you have no sons) daughter's son inherits your Realm, it's game over as he's of a different Dynastic line, unless she married a male from your Dynasty.

Which is why most players usually changes to Salic as soon as possible :) ... unless they want the challenge of some of the other inheritance laws.

Great advice fior a newbie, thanks guys. A little off topic, but I noticed that my rulers intrigue i think? affects how many demenses I can hold. Is there a chart that shows how much for how much kind of thing?

No, there isn't a chart. But it depends on your rulers intrigue and his title

Count: Intrigue * 0.25
Duke : Intrigue * 0.5
King : Intrigue * 1.0
Byzantine Empireror (as primary title) : Intrigue * 2.0

Then there are bonuses for the century that you are in, it starts in 1100 when you get a +1 bonus.
